Bum Marketing Methods

You should always choose products that are important to you in some way, or that you feel you can intelligently create web pages for at a bare minimum. There are many different affiliate companies out there for you to choose from, personally I use Clickbank as my main source of affiliate products but I also try to mix it up by selling separate individual products as well.

The company you choose doesn't matter all that much though, because no matter what you will be finding some products that work, and some that don't. Finding products that will sell and be useful to your customers is the first part of any bum marketing campaign.

Squidoo is the site that this lens is hosted on, it is a user created content site where you get paid to have your own webpages. By creating a Squidoo lens you get 50% of the money earned by it through affiliate sales and AdSense revenue, while at the same time being able to market your own products.

To promote your Squidoo, you should create articles such as EzineArticles.com or an equivalent such as GoArticle.com (from the Jayde network). These articles should all link back to a single Squeeze page, personally I use Squidoo as my squeeze page typically because that way I will earn revenue from AdSense as well as from my affiliate products.

Once you have an established niche your articles will become relevant to each other and if you use your name you may even begin to earn some name recognition. The beauty of the system is that all of your pages are self promoted due to the systems they are in, while also being promoted by each other. From there all you need to do is add social bookmarking and you will see nice placement in search engines and good traffic.

Social bookmarking is a new phenomenon that came with "Web 2.0". This is where people bookmark their favorite websites and web pages and then you can view what pages other people are bookmarking. Through a system of tagging relevant materials are linked together and suggested to users to visit, creating a very unique environment for users to surf the web.

As a result of this new gateway, webmasters are quickly catching on that this is a new frontier that has yet to be exploited. Social bookmarking will drive traffic to your site both in the form of bursts (such as 75,000 visitors in a day if your page hits the front page of Digg) and residual traffic such as with StumbleUpon. The social bookmarks more importantly at the moment leave behind a trail of one way backlinks leading straight to your site. Since many of these social bookmarking sites are PR7-8 they lead to your articles getting indexed the same day you order a social bookmarking package typically.
