Affiliate Marketing basically means that you will be selling other people's products over the internet and you get paid a commission for every sale you make. This is how article marketing works:

1) Find a product that you find interesting. Let's say you like to play golf. There are some great info guides out there that will teach you to improve your golfswing. Choosing something you like will keep you interested! The merchant of the product you choose will give you a personal link (hoplink). When you send someone to his page with this link, he'll know you have sent them!

2) Now you need to find a keyword to promote your product. Why do you need a keyword? People search Google for information. Your keyword makes sure people can find your articles, ads, website, blog,..

3) You've found your product and your keyword. What you need now is a website. A great place to create FREE webpages without any knowledge of webdesign is Squidoo. You are looking at a Squidoo page right now. Squidoo was created, so that everyone can create a webpage. If you know english you can create a website! It's that simple!

4) Now you're going to write articles and/or ads and upload them to article directory sites such as ezinearticles.com or USFreeAds.com. This is a great free way to get people to find your website.

5) People now can find your articles. When they do they are sent to your website and from there you send them to the merchant page. If they buy, you get paid.

This is just to give you a basic idea on how article marketing works. If you are new to article marketing or have little experience this probably doesn't make much sense to you. If you have the luxury to invest some money into your business, there are still several options to chose from:

- you can invest in paid ads (Google Adwords), but if you have no experience this will eat up all your money without returning any sales. I wouldn't recommend this if you're budget is $300 or less!!

- you can invest in ebooks that will show how to make money with affiliate marketing. But a lot of these products aren't worth the money. There is a lot of free information to be found on the internet, so don't pay for it. Buying a guide on article marketing is a waste of your money. However, if you want to start with Google Adwords or building an email list, you should invest in a good ebook or get some help from an experienced marketeer! Just diving in will cost you more than you put in!
