Affiliate Marketing for the Beginner

Ok so first lets take a look at the lack of knowledge that beginners have. When I myself first started out I think I Googled something along the lines of 'make money online' and you can imagine the amount of different systems that came up in the results. They all seemed to claim the same thing, that they can make you tons of money with very little work.
This is the first myth you will learn about; affiliate marketing is not about making tons of money overnight and nor is it about not doing any work. In order to establish yourself as a reputable affiliate marketer you will have to put the time and effort in and unfortunately it will not happen over night. The only guaranteed way to get rich overnight is to win the lottery and we all know that is not as easy as it sounds:-)

So before purchasing any program, research and the research some more. Check out loads of reviews on the program to see if it is legitimate and if you have any unanswered questions contact the seller. If the program is as good as it claims, the seller will have no problems answering your questions.

When most people fail after purchasing one of these programs they like to point the finger of blame at someone else, mainly the seller, but really it is your own fault if you have not done your research, harsh but true! The more knowledge of each program you have the better, I don't think anyone has ever had too much knowledge!
Remember, knowledge is the key difference between failure and success.

Lack of patience is something that I think every new affiliate marketer has had. The majority of people try and get into affiliate marketing as they have seen umpteen systems claiming to make thousands of pounds everyday for little work. As I said this is not the case. You should only get into affiliate marketing if you are prepared to look at the long term bonuses.

Affiliate marketing is not as easy as it sounds, you do need to be prepared to put in a lot of effort in the beginning, however this will pay off in the long run and you will have to do less work in the future.

When I first started in affiliate marketing I had been following a program for a bout 30 days and I was starting to get fed up as I was doing a lot of work but was not seeing any results. But I stuck at it and the rewards for my hard work soon started to pay off. However I was certainly not bringing in thousands of pounds in my first few months, it takes time to get noticed on the World Wide Web!!!!

My main point is don't expect too much too soon but you are just setting yourself up for disappointment. In the words of Take That "just have a little patience". I'm sorry I couldnt help myself there!!

Now I know it is hard to stay focused when you are not seeing the results. You start one system and then because you don't have the patience, the focus goes and you start another program. The main problem here is that affiliate marketing will not happen overnight no matter what system you are following so in the end you are just going to have a lot of unfinished projects and a lot of wasted money!
After you have done your research and chosen a particular system, stick with that one until you have seen it right through to the end. If then you are still not seeing any benefits then it is time to look into something else, but give it time and don't lose your focus!

When it comes to starting a any online business, funding can be one of the greatest barriers to success.
Many people beleive that with affiliate marketing you will not have to invest a single penny of your own money. There may very well be a handful of people out ther who have acheived this but I cannot tell you how they did this as I am not one of them! What I have found is that you will have to invest some money into your business, I dont even mean hundred of pounds, but i will say the more money you do have to invest the quicker you will see results.
I myself barely had any money to invest in my business when I started but I managed the odd few pounds here and there and lack of funds has not stopped me in my tracks, I may just have had to put in a bit more effort and a bit more time to see the results then someone with a bit more capital behind them.
If you really have no money but dont want this to stop you then try asking freidns or family for a loan or maybe think about starting the business with a partner.

Obviously there is so much more to affiliate marketing than what I have told you on this lens, this is merely just a starting point for you and a few tips on what and what not to do.
