What is Affiliate Marketing? How to become an affiliate marketer?Affiliate marketing definitely benefits those who are new in the internet marketing.

Affiliate marketing is an internet-based marketing practice in which a business rewards one or more affiliates for each visitor or customer brought about by the affiliate's marketing efforts.

If you are a newcomer in the internet marketing, having not much knowledge about internet marketing and no product to sell, it is wise to start off with affiliate marketing.

There are many affiliate products available in the internet. These products usually are established or carried brand names with them in the internet business. The affiliate then selects these products and earns commissions by promoting them to the end users.

It is therefore vital for the affiliate to have sufficient knowledge of affiliate marketing before he or she can generate a sale from the affiliate products. There are the strategic ways to promote these products and there are ways of how to reach the targeted customers to buy these products.

Some affiliate marketing program will be helpful to the new affiliate. There are many of them in the internet business. One of the ebooks I highly recommended is wriiten by Sean Rasmussen. He a very successful internet marketer and the title of his ebook is YOTA:Year of the Affiliate

The first step towards Internet Marketing

Affiliate Marketing

Affiliate Marketing is an Internet-based marketing practice in which a business rewards one or more affiliates for each visitor or customer brought about by the affiliate's marketing efforts.

There are four core parties in the Affiliate Marketing industry: the Merchant (also known informally as 'Retailer' or 'Brand'), the Network, the Publisher (also known informally as 'the Affiliate') and the Customer. At some point, where the market has grown sufficiently in complexity, affiliate marketing can include Affiliate Management Agencies, Super-Affiliates and Specialized Third Parties vendors.

An affiliate network acts as an intermediary between publishers (affiliates) and merchant affiliate programs. It allows website publishers to more easily find and participate in affiliate programs which are suitable for their website (and thus generate income from those programs), and allows websites offering affiliate programs (typically online merchants) to reach a larger audience by promoting their affiliate programs to all of the publishers participating in the affiliate network.

Traditional affiliate networks enable merchants to offer publishers a share of any revenue that is generated by the merchant from visitors to the publisher's site, or a fee for each visitor on the publisher's site that completes a specific action (making a purchase, registering for a newsletter, etc.). The majority of merchant programs have a revenue share model, as opposed to a fee-per-action model.

For merchants, affiliate network services and benefits may include tracking technology, reporting tools, payment processing, and access to a large base of publishers. For affiliates, services and benefits can include simplifying the process of registering for one or more merchant affiliate programs, reporting tools, and payment aggregation.

Affiliates are generally able to join affiliate networks for free, whereas there is generally a fee for merchants to participate. Traditional affiliate networks might charge an initial setup fee and/or a recurring membership fee. It is also common for affiliate networks to charge merchants a percentage of the commissions paid to affiliates.

The customers who place the order through affiliate marketing generally have control over the products purchased. While they have to pay upfront for the products purchased, the payment made by the customers can be refunded if they not satisfied with the products and wish to return them. As for membership, the customers can cease their membership anytime as they wish.

Affiliate marketing saves time and cuts cost to everyone involved. There are so many marketing tools available these days that running affiliate marketing is as easy as learning ABC.
