African Flower Hexigon

• 1Chain 6.
  
  (If you've never crocheted a chain stitch before, visit "How to Crochet a Chain Stitch.")
• 2Slip stitch into the first chain.
  (Slip stitching into the first chain of the 6 you just made forms a ring.)
• 3Chain 4.
  
  (This serves as the first double crochet stitch of the next round.)
• 4Double crochet, then chain 1. Repeat this 5 times.
  
  (You are double crocheting around the entire ring, not in any particular chain stitch.)
• 5Slip stitch into the 3rd chain of the chain stitch made in step 3 above.
  
  (This completes the second round. The final slip stitch forms a ring. When you are done you will have 6 double crochet stitches including the chain that began the round.)
• 6Change the color of the yarn. Chain 3.
  
  (To start the next round.)
• 7Double crochet 3 times in the space closest to your crochet hook.
