"I can't remember a time when I wasn't an actor and singer and I've always been banging the hell out of one instrument or another."There was speculation when I was a child that I'd become a lawyer or go into advertising, but the only things I ever really responded to involved creativity."
"My father taught me the fundamentals of drawing the first time I spent a couple of nights in a hospital with a concussion and that stuck with me.
"Fortunately, I was given the opportunity to go on stage in grammar school and became the master of ceremonies for school functions from 4th-6th grades.
"Then came bands, in which I was the lead singer and I've always seemed to number some world class guitarists and pianists among my closest friends.
"My freshman year majoring in English at Framingham State College found me taking over the drama society which lead to my facing facts and transfering to Emerson College to major in theater.
"In 1989 I decided to turn pro and pursue a film career and met director Brad Anderson my first year, who gave me my first break with a starring role in 'A Short Film About Bowling'.
"This would prove to be prophetic, for when the third film I would appear in for him, 'Next Stop Wonderland', was a hit at The Sundance Film Festival, I moved to Hollywood on the strength of its popularity."
