Superb, of course I don't have the tweezers, grey hairs or . . . .OK I'M LYING! Brilliant lens it had me hooting and agreeing all the way through! With thanks and appreciation. Cathi x

  • TZiggy Dec 7, 2011 @ 4:52 pm | delete
eh I forgot! Quick question though. Why are there no men on the lens? Do I need new glasses?
  • jksterling Nov 9, 2011 @ 3:28 pm | delete
What a great lens. Walking in front of plate glass windows often spurs me to the question "who's that fat bald guy with my wife". Thanks for the laughs.

Funny. Unfortunately I resemble those remarks! :-) Amazing how easy it is to identify with those things when you're going through it.

Man! What a great lens.. :)

Silly me.. I thought Anita Renfroe - You Raise Me Up was going to be a Christian song LOL

Oh, man... if I had a dollar for every time my body decided not to work the way I wanted it to...
  • Sunflower_Susan Oct 1, 2011 @ 7:12 pm | delete
Yes, I already know how I'm going to die. Spontaneous combustion. I consistenty run about 20 degrees hotter than all those around me, with occasional flares nearing 6,000,000 degrees Celsius, give or take a solar storm or two. Now I know how nudist colonies could be so popular even with older women who look remarkably like oversized, soggy prunes; when you are in the middle of a hot flash, nothing matters but ripping all your clothes off.
  • Judy_Filarecki Sep 30, 2011 @ 4:08 pm | delete
I read this once before and totally enjoyed it. Now that I am a Squid Angel, I came back to it to give it a blessing. Aging isn't always fun, but this sure makes people laugh. Thanks
  • sandyspider Sep 30, 2011 @ 10:44 am | delete
It is sad how our bodies betray us. It seems like yesterday I was young. What happened? Blessed! Please add this on the plexo in my Zazzle Sales and Blessings for September 2011 lens.
  • ana_nimoss Sep 27, 2011 @ 4:13 am | delete
Hey, I laughed so hard my husband thought something was wrong with me! (but then, he thinks that way often!). I am just looking forward (or not) my menopause. No point fighting it. Thanks for the great laugh!!!!
  • DavidDove Sep 18, 2011 @ 12:37 pm | delete
So, it's not just me then, great, I knew it wasn't really, never had a doubt in fact, What was the question again?
  • DLeighAlexander Sep 8, 2011 @ 6:39 pm | delete
It's better to find humor than frustration as we all inevitably age in many similar ways :) Greatly enjoyed your lens! Thanks for the laughs!
  • ellagis Sep 5, 2011 @ 8:54 am | delete
I would tell you, if I only reminded! Luckily I wrote a note to remember to tell you how great and funny was your lens!
  • Judy_Filarecki Sep 1, 2011 @ 10:58 am | delete
Absolutely marvelous lens. It really hits home in a humerous way so we can all laugh at ourselves. When I look in the mirror, I always ask who that old lady is. She disappears when I turn away and suddenly that beautiful, slim 35 year old appears like magic. If I didn't have to see when I comb my hair, I think I'd ban all mirrors...or maybe not, because they remind me that there are a lot of healthy things I can do to improve on the image.
  • kiwinana71 May 8, 2011 @ 7:19 pm | delete
I loved this lens, bringing back a lot of memories of things I have tried not to think about, as the years go by, and for bringing it back in a humorous way, now I only laugh and thankful that I am still alive to see my years going by in good health.
  • Momsbusy247 Mar 31, 2011 @ 6:52 pm | delete
What a humorous way to look at our daily miseries! If we couldn't laugh at them, we would be crying a lot! Great job.

I love this, so funny yet so true. And yes I've experienced the freakishly long hair that I have to take several stabs at with the tweezers because my eyesight isn't what it use to be either. Thanks for making me laugh and realize we women are not alone!

This lens shone a hilarious light on the pains of getting older! But the woman on the cover of Club Menopause looked a bit young....lol. What a funny lens, and I'm sure you're a lot younger and prettier looking than you think you are.

Had to come back here to tickle my laugh box again and to belatedly thank you for stopping by my lens again and encouraging me to write. I will, I will, I will if I can remember too... will I? No really... I do love to sit down and write, and read (my book list is way behind too), but it's so addictive... butt speaking of behind~ it WAS getting flatter and spreading out over the edge of the chair...so while I am still ambulatory, I decided to postpone long sessions at the computer in favor of exercise... you know...walking, hiking, and sometimes racing to the closest privy... and so it goes! Keep stokin' that marvelous sense of humor... and I'llll beee baaacck!

Love this lens. Unfortunately, I can relate, but it's hilarious! This reminds me of my unwanted hair pact with my mother and sister. We have promised one another that should we ever get to a place where we cannot manage our own random hairs, that we promise to use the tweezers to help each other and keep us looking like bushy animals in the hospital or the home or whatever :)

Oh lordy! what a funny lens...and way too many things that I can relate to...I'm waiting for my brain to catch up to what I see in the mirror, funny how I can not recognize myself. I used to be able to eat whatever & how much I wanted, it never affected my weight, then I got a thyroid problem, it all changed and became a struggle...all I want now is Good Health.

  • aesta1 Mar 27, 2010 @ 3:22 am | delete
You made me laugh. Many times, it is not funny especially in front of the mirror or when the clock strikes 9 at night. Still, it is good to laugh at it.
  • EagleScoutMom Mar 5, 2010 @ 4:50 pm | delete
Love this lens!!! I'll be turning the Big 5 0 this June so I am floating right in this boat with you! I haven't laughed that hard in awhile - so funny. Thank you!

A fun lens indeed. I have problems with gray hair but at least, a trip to the hair salon can fix that for now. But when it comes to my memory, I don't think there is anything I can do. It is just not as sharp as it used to be...
  • vallain Feb 24, 2010 @ 9:31 pm | delete
    I can relate (unfortunately).
  • bethd821 Feb 24, 2010 @ 5:52 pm | delete
OMG, this is so funny. Great job. I resemble a lot of the items in your age-related chaos. I so needed this today. Thank you and blessed by this SquidAngel

I'm getting older, but I refuse to admit it. Some of my students think I was a teenager during WW I. I just tell them no. It was WW II. But they think that was only 20 years ago, so that's okay.
    Awesome lens.
    Lizzy
  • OhMe Feb 24, 2010 @ 6:21 am | delete
This is so funny. I wish that you had given a warning to make sure I was wearing a Depends. I especially enjoyed the part about Plucking because my magnifying mirror and tweezers are two of my most cherished possessions. I have nightmares of being in a nursing home with those long stray thick hairs growing out all over. Some friends of mine have sworn that they won't let that happen. lol Your "The Art of Aging Ungracefully" is a super read and great fun! Thank you.
  • Joan4 Feb 24, 2010 @ 5:22 am | delete
Oh my! I have laughed so hard I am crying! Hilarious and painfully true! You have made my day, and it's not even 6:30 a.m. What a hoot!
  • enslavedbyfaeries Feb 20, 2010 @ 9:10 pm | delete
OMG, I can totally relate to this lens! I'm turning 40 in a few weeks and suddenly feel like I've ten years overnight! What that heck is that all about? Thanks for making me feel less alone as I struggle to acknowledge that the reflection in the mirror is really mine. You've done a brilliant job on this lens!!

Your sense of humor will carry you through it all... You are (in the vernacular of the 60s) a trip! Loved it all and will share it with my lady who will empathize with every word ... as I did vicariously! Let me add (before it's too late) everyone mistakes her to be 20 years younger than she is... for she continues to be a beautiful woman. If she gets the same gut laugh from this lens that I did, perhaps I can sleep in the Big house tonight! One can only dream! :) Thanks for your visit and comments on my lens!

    What a great lens!..... 5*
yes, I definitley suffer from CBB...unfotunatly aging can not be done gracefully, it just can't! I tried, but fell and broke my wrist a few months ago, that's because the doctor warned me, that I was at an age that I can break my hips if I fall...that says it all...you are at an age??? so I tried not breaking the hip on the way down and got my wrist instead.

Loved this lens and thought I would share my experience. I woke up one night and my hand was all wrinkly, like when you sit in the bath too long. Hmmm, funny.... (I was still half asleep) It had been resting on my leg while I slept and my body sweated......i was drenched. Yes, this does continue, forever it seems.

  • Pastiche Oct 26, 2009 @ 8:47 am | delete
ROTFLMAO! Great lens, I can relate to almost everything in it. At 58 I am struggling with the dichotomy between the image I see in the mirror and the one I have of myself in my head ... and it's a losing battle. I am thankful for not being *cold* all the time and no more migraine headaches every month, but the hot flashes really make my face red!
  • grannysage Oct 25, 2009 @ 12:55 am | delete
I laughed my way all the way through this. And, I have my tweezers in my hand! Woe to anyone who loses them. I was skinny too as a kid. Now I tell everyone, "I earned this body." I just loved your graphics too. 5*

This had me laughing and oh boy can I relate. Hot flashes when people are around is a terrible thing. The urge to strip all of your clothes off is overwhelming and you actually consider it, trying to rationalize that everyone would surely get over it eventually lol..
One time it happened when I had company and my fiance later asked me "why did you keep sticking your head in the freezer" lol..
    Thanks for the laughs,
    Robin:)
