Hi Ella and Dermott! So glad you stopped by.

You've probably red that sometimes Gracie has a bit of trouble with motivation. Here's what we do. Mum keeps a close eye on what Gracie's interests are, a certain toy, or a certain food or treat. When she's super focused on that reward, Mum will work with her in agility or tricks, but the minute she becomes disinterested Mum stops the game, until Gracie is completely focused again.

Gracie is very food motivated. Generally she will work/play for her kibble, but on special times to really get her going, Mum will bring out cheddar cheese, I will do just about anything for cheese too! So test out different safe foods for dogs, test out different toys, and see what really motivates Dermott. What what he likes, what gets his blood going, and use that. I could be a toy, treats, or something you do or a sound you make. (Mum swears I run faster when she play growls at me :)

    Have fun!!!

First of all, we constantly read your blog and love Gracie and Johann, and second of all, I often find it hard to motivate Dermott (you know so he's raring to go!!) do you have any tips? He isn't a great toy kinda dog, we are teaching him to tug, everynow and again he like's a ball, but we mostly use food and when you say the 'best dog treats I can find'

    WHAT ARE THEY?!

Lots of hugs and Licks, Ella and Dermott. xxxx
