Air Compressor Reviews and Ratings

Black & Decker ASI300 Air Station Inflator Reviews

Simply gets the job done

Pros:
- All hoses and wires and adaptors store inside the unit, for neatness.
- built-in handle is nice
- long 12V auto power cord
- two-year warranty

Cons:
- When it stops automatically after inflating one item (such as a tire), it must be turned off and back on to inflate another item, or to increase pressure setting and continue filling.
- the AC power cord is extremely short. Pretty much requires an extension cord.
- the air hose is fairly short.
- The noise it makes is quite loud, though not as loud as some I've heard.
- fitting the cords and hose back into the storage compartment is not easy.
- the valve adapter is plastic, not metal, and doesn't seem sturdy. It works so far, however.

Conclusion:
Gets the job done. Overall works pretty well.

Senco PC1010 1-Horsepower Peak 1-Gallon Compressor Review

A quiet and small air compressor

Pros:
- Lightweight (only 20 pounds) and small so it's easy to carry around the house and it doesn't take too much space in the car trunk.
- Very quiet, no need for hearing protection or placing this compressor far from where you're working.
- Use little electricity
- Good for airbrush, precission trimming, nail guns, blow gun

Cons:
- Small tank capacity
- Only 0.6 cubic feet per minute. Which means it's okay for trimming, framing, airbrush but not for paint spray guns
- Slow to fill (2 minutes) and refill (over 30 seconds)

Conclusion:
A good compressor for doing small work around the house when you're not in a hurry.

DEWALT D55151 14 Amp 2.5-HP 4-Gallon Oiled Twin Hot Dog Compressor

An oil-lubricated air compressor that performs better than expected

Pros:
- Easy to use
- Relatively quiet
- Comes up to full pressure rapidly
- Oil reservoir keeps the piston well lubed so it's more durable and is not prone to freeze up under prolonged use.
- Can be run continously (though you have to drain it once an hour becase small tank means the moisture will build up quickly)
- Plenty of power. It holds enough pressure to feed 2-3 framing nailers or finish guns at the same time.

Cons:
- You can't use it with extension cord because the power losss won't let it pressurize. You need to use long hose instead.
- A little heavy (77 pounds)
- The plastic guard over the motor often damaged during shipment though a simple call to Dewalt's 1-800 number will solve it (they'll send a new replacement guard within a few days).

Conclusion:
A dependable stacked-tank air compressor which can do heavy works regularly.
