On the day we visited the museum we were honoured with the privilege of standing just inside the hanger doors to witness close up this spectacular display, lasting about ten minutes, of five helicopters coming into land in formation; and now you can watch the same event from the video below. There may be larger museums dedicated to aviation but in Weston-super-Mare is the largest helicopter museum in the world, an all-weather attraction under cover in big warehouses. So on visiting Weston-super-Mare if the weather isn't kind and you have an interest in aircraft then this place is worthy of seeking out as a place to spend a few hours. Weston-super-Mare
Do you see the sea
For those who don't know Weston, it's a typical British costal tourist town located on the south coast in the West Country of England; with all the usual attractions including beach with the famous Weston donkey rides, pier (which burnt down a few years ago but has been rebuilt) and local parks. It's an ideal place for a day trip, we've been many times, but I'm not sure I'd like to spend a whole week there in one go; mainly because the weather can be unpredictable and although the beaches are good (long stretch of sandy beaches) I don't think I've ever been there when the tide has been in! Invariably whenever we've visited the sea has been something just visible on the distant horizon, or at least it seems that way. Video of Five Helicopters Landing
