Remote Control Cars driving up the wall

Air Hogs' Zero Gravity line of cars lets you drive your remote control vehicle up walls and even over ceilings. Using their knowledge of RC copters, the manufacturers have placed a vacuum producing rotor underneath the Zero Gravity cars. This negative pressure is the secret behind the toy's wall climbing ability.

You can have your pick of Zero Gravity styles with micro and nano sized cars sporting futuristic styling. For the realist, they also carry a line with more authentic real-life car bodies. Although I wonder how authentic they'd feel racing up the walls!

Ride up the walls with Zero Gravity Remote Control Cars

The car is a small vacuum cleaner. The small rotor underneath sucks air out of the body and pushes it out through vents. The body itself is there to create a pressure seal which keeps the car on the walls. The wheels and other details are simply non moving decorative elements. The real moving parts all stay enclosed by the body.

Because of this mechanic, the toy works best on flat surfaces. Texturing on walls and ceilings will break the pressure seal and may cause the toy to fall. The more texture on the surface the less likely the car will stay stuck.

Zero Gravity Laser

The Zero Gravity Laser series offers an unusual remote control that uses a laser pointer. The driver uses the RC unit to project a laser. The car follows the laser to the specified point. This is easier to do and is a more intuitive form of remote control. The novice driver does not have to worry about reorienting directions - a big issue when driving on walls! The laser pointer makes the learning curve more shallow.

Air Hogs Nano Zero Gravity

The nano series is the smallest sized of the Zero Gravity line. The cars are so compact they actually fit into a compartment inside the remote control unit. This handy feature makes it extremely portable. Further, it becomes less likely that the toy will get left behind despite the small size.
