Latest on the heli

I bought this helicopter because my husband has always wanted one and oh my goodness, he hasn't put it away!!! It's small enough to fly all over the house. The instructions say that it flies about 6-8 minutes on a full charge, but it actually can last up to 12 minutes. It takes a little bit to learn how to fly, but after you get the hang of it, it's easy.

It comes with great instructions. You have to add some weights that are included with it to make it fly straighter and bend the tail a little, but it has details on how to do that too.

It's well worth the [...] I paid for it and actually bought one for my son for his 12th birthday because he thinks it's great too.

This is my first r/c aircraft, and it is AWESOME!!!! It charges in about 20 minutes from almost nothing, then gets you about 8-10 minutes of flight time. You can crash this thing into almost anything (and shoot it with a high powered Nerf gun, as some of my friends did) and it keeps flying.

I've hit walls, the ceiling, family members, guests... My one complaint really isn't a problem if you fly right, but my golden retriever sheds like a dog (no pun intended), and if you hit the floor too often and then try to lift off from the floor, eventually dog hair gets wrapped around the tail rotor, making you stop, take the rotor off, clean off the dog hair, snap it on, and continue flying. I bought this at Target for like 30$. This is a great gift for anyone who likes aircraft.

Which mini rc helicopter is better? Air hogs havoc heli or havoc stinger?

Which mini rc helicopter is better for controlling and which has a longer lasting battery? I wanna do stunts with it and fly it around the house. I can only choose between the Air hogs havoc heli or the havoc stinger.

Our answer:
They are both the same. The only difference is the design of the two helicopters. The Air Hogs apache Havoc helicopter is in a Helicopter shaped body and the Air Hogs Stinger is in a Stinger Bug shaped shell or body.... You can NOT do stunts with both helicopters because they are 2 channel helicopters. The only stunt you could do is probably spin in mid air. Both could be flown around the inside of your house but NEVER outside. They both fly about the same and have the same battery time. They vary helicopter to helicopter just by a few seconds. So it is all up to you. I personally suggest the Havoc because it looks more of a helicopter.

The Air Hogs Helicopter: readers write in comments and suggestions

I was in a retail store this morning looking for an Air Hogs Havoc Heli and came across an Air hogs Apache helicopter in Toys R US. It was black and larger than the piccoz/havoc heli. I didn't get to read the packaging for long but it seemed like it was possibly just one channel. The transmitter was in the shape of a RC car one wheel controller, without the wheel. It seemed like it only had a trigger and no other control sticks.

it might be better to mod with extra channels for all you modders out there since its bigger and probably has larger motors.

Our reply
They were popular as office toys way before the lipos in toys started and things actually made the jump from flying toy to near hobby quality,

its a simple idea (that doesnt work that well) 1 channel controls the main rotor and the tail rotor. at flying speed/hovering speed they both spin basically the same and keep the chopper straight, balanced to move forward slightly with weight at the front, but as you let the throttle off, there is a slight RPM difference on the tail rotor (less) and the torque of the rotor swings the chopper around like a top.. I guess its some limited form of directional control but not much,

there was 100s of companys selling them years back, if im not mistaken they fly for a big 2 minutes and dont have li-pos, back before Xtwins/Aero Aces when everything airhogs was a flying brick ment to entertain a 10 year old for a few minutes

more advanced versions came out in asia but were effectively the same helicopter, but with directional control for right and left.. X-1 Firefly I think is one of them.. but they still spun like a top pretty much all the time,

the Syma 2 channel dragonfly you see on ebay all the time is more or less the same design but slightly more advanced being 2 channels.. but none of them you really have any control over.. they can be modded.. but in the grand scheme of things theres alot better toys that can be modded into something better than these things
