Airbrush Tanning

Airbrush tanning offers an alternative to bathing in the sun or tanning in a traditional ultraviolet light tanning bed. You can have your all over gorgeous tan without the dangers of exposing yourself to the sun or ultraviolet light.

It is well known that the suns rays can be harmful to your skin and that it is not healthy to get too much sun. Certain skin cancers may develop and too much sun is the number one cause of premature aging. Traditional ultraviolet light tanning beds are just as bad since they have been linked to the same skin maladies.

Getting a sunless tan is easy and fast. Your sunless tan is applied with an airbrush and compressor, which saturates your skin with a solution of DHA (dihydroxyacetone), a chemical that interacts with the amino acids in the dead layer of your skin. The result is a golden tan without the risk of skin cancer.

Most salons will customize the color of the spray to your skin color, giving you the best possible results. Airbrush tanning gives you the same result as five fifteen minute tanning bed sessions, or as many hours in the sun.

Airbrush tanning also improves the appearance of your skin by de-emphasizing freckles, cellulite, stretch marks, scars and varicose veins.

Your tan from a single airbrush session will last up to seven days. If you are dedicated to keeping your tan year round, airbrush tanning makes it possible for you to always have a great looking tan.

Airbrush Tanning At Home

TanningDid you know that you can buy an airbrush tanning system for your home? Home airbrush tanning systems range in price from about $6.00 for an inexpensive cordless to a Pro system with compressor, training materials and all for about $220.00. They come in wands, hand held blowers, just the sprayer and hose such as the Paasche Airbrush Tanning Set, and those sets which come with a compressor.

Making your choice depends on your future plans for the airbrush tanner that you buy. If you will just be tanning yourself with your kit, then a less expensive model will surely do. If you want to start a side business and start tanning your friends and relatives you might want to consider a more expensive model.

I suggest a more expensive model for a side business because you normally "get what you pay for" and the heavier use that your airbrush tanning equipment will get with a business may require a sturdier model.

Buying your own airbrush tanning set is not a bad idea when you consider that a visit to the tanning salon cost about $30.00 for a single visit for a tan that will last only 7 days. If you want a golden tan all the time year round then investing in your own airbrush tanning set would be the most cost effective way to go.

Once you have your own airbrush tanning equipment you can apply your own tan and brush it up at your own convenience in the comfort of your home. You will have beautiful glowing skin year round!

Airbrush Tanning - More

Smiling Tanned WomanThere is a multitude of tanning equipment, kits and products available all over the Internet, but the absolute best and most efficient system is an airbrush tanning system. A typical airbrush tanning system is made up of a sprayer, a compressor, tanning solution, and perhaps a training DVD.

The solution used in spray on tanning is a purely natural process derived from sugar beets called DHA (Di-Hydroxy-Acetone). DHA has been approved for use in sunless tanning products by the FDA since the late 1970's and is safer for use on the skin than the rays of the sun or a ultraviolet light tanning bed.

If you have never used an airbrush gun, you will find that it is an easy system to use. Airbrush tanning has room for minor errors as you do not have to be exact in applying the tanning solution. It is very easy for a beginner to get the hang of it, the basics to airbrush tanning is to apply the tanning solution in light even strokes about 6 inches away from the body, overlapping as you go and being careful not to concentrate the spray in any one area.

That doesn't sound so very hard does it? You will probably be nervous when you first start out but that is a natural side effect with any new thing that you learn to do at first.

Once you are proficient at using your airbrush, you can throw a "tanning party" where all the attendees get a tan. Most of them will love their new glowing skin, and will want to maintain their tans. This is a perfect opportunity for you to start a small business if you are so inclined.

After you have learned the ropes of the tanning business, you can become a mobile tanning unit and offer to tan people in their own homes. This is a nice way to pay for your tanning equipment and to make a nice income if you consider that a single spray on tan cost about $30.00 in a salon.

Be aware that the tan that you get from a salon will probably look a slightly more professional than a tan from a home tanning kit. The salon's pay thousands of dollars for their tanning equipment, and their expensive spray guns can apply the DHA much quicker and in higher concentrations than you can with less expensive home airbrush tanning equipment.

The fun does not stop here however. You can get airbrush makeup kits that will work with your home tanning equipment, depending on the model. Airbrush makeup is what the stars use to look so great. You can apply foundation, eyeshadow and even lipstick with your airbrush.

You can also get stencils and DVDs to guide you in airbrushing designs onto hair. You can do some fantastic hair art with these kits. Airbrushed hair makeup washes out easily in the shower with your own shampoo. You won't need any special removers to remove the hair art from your hair.

Whatever your style, if you are wanting to look fabulous with a golden tan all the time a home airbrush tanning kit is the secret to tanned perfection.

Yes, sunless tanning nowadays is the way to go. No Hassle! No Harmful UV Rays! Aside from airbrush tanning there are also sunless tanning lotions which are available on the market.

These home products are generally available over the counter and can give your skin a tanned look without exposing it to harmful ultraviolet (UV) rays and are commonly sold as creams, gels, lotions and sprays you apply to your skin. The active ingredient in most sunless tanning products is dihydroxyacetone (DHA).
