Keep Your Dog Cool In Summer & Warm In Winter With A Climate Controlled Dog House
Dog houses with Air Conditioned Comfort
No matter what part of North America you live in, you either experience extremely dry heat most of the year, or suffer through snow and cold temperatures more than half the year then listen to hear that eight letter word that plagues you the balance of the year - Humidity!
Either way, heat plays havoc with our fur covered four legged family members and an air conditioned dog house could be a life saving necessity for your dog. If you live in a hot climate and your dog is mostly outdoors your dogs need a place to take a break from the heat and sun. In this case for sure you should consider getting an air-conditioned dog house. In the humidity the air quality can be poor and along with just the fatigue from the heat there is the issue of fresh air and breathing to think about. Typically when buying a dog house pet owners are thinking of protecting their pet from rain, snow and cold however it's extreme heat that tends to be overlooked. We've heard the stories I the news about animals left in cars, in the sun with horrible consequences. Being left out in the yard in the blistering sun is just as deadly to dogs especially if you keep a dog that is bred for cold weather in a warm climate such as an Alaskan Husky. Many dogs get extremely ill or die each year from heat injuries. An air-conditioned dog house can save your dog from these conditions and keep him healthy and happy no matter how hot it gets.
When considering your purchase for an air-conditioned dog house you need to determine if you are going to buy a house equipped with the A/C or if you are going to install a unit into a house you have, or have in mind. To retrofit, be sure that the house is made of a suitable material to accommodate this addition. Plastic dog houses have become quite popular because they are so cheap however they are not suitable to be air conditioned in most cases because of the poor insulating qualities of plastic. Wood will always be the best material for an air-conditioned dog house. You will need to make sure the house is properly insulated to hold in the cool air, or warm air as these add-on units come as heaters or air conditioning units. The air conditioners don't require a lot of power, so therefore are not costly to run. With the house being properly insulated you will reduce the cost even further and make the unit run more efficiently. It is also critical that the unit, all wires and components are either out of reach of the dog or made dog proof so there is no damage or harm to the animal by the dog chewing on the unit.
Most people want to buy their pet the biggest and best but with a dog house this is not the correct way to approach it. Dogs like a 'den' they want a snug fit. The dog and he should have to duck to get into the door and should have enough room inside to turn around and lie down stretched out and that is all. The same guidelines they use for crate sizes when flying with your pets, they need to stand up, turn and lie down. The cozy fit also means you can cool the house down easily. Getting your dog an air-conditioned dog house provides them with a comfortable hideaway out of the heat, the sun, the stuffy air and could be a life saving measure.

Hot Dog? Get An Air Conditioner For Their Home!
"HOT DOGS OF SUMMER"As a dog lover when I read stories of pets left in an automobile on a hot summer day ... or I witness a pet tied up in the heat with no shade within their roaming range, it makes me so sad and angry. We are responsible to protect our pets. It is not any different than being a parent. Our pets smother us with unconditional love and make us feel needed and comforted. In turn we need to protected them. The idea of them suffering in the heat is just crazy. There is NO need for this!
Put your dog in the house with a cool tiled floor to lie down on. A custom dog house will be a treat for them as well. They have a man made roof to create shade and some come with air conditioning too! We love the A/C and some days it makes life bearable for us, why would we not allow our pets to enjoy this same luxury? Their wearing fur coats for heavens sake!

Keeping Your Dog Cool During The Dog Days Of Summer!
Cool Canine
I read through multiple articles a day on how to keep cool now that that hot temperatures are upon us. The dangers and strains of exercising in the heat extend beyond just us, but to our pets as well. As with humans our dogs can suffer from heat exhaustion. Heat exhaustion can occur when your body gets too hot, resulting in physical symptoms like weakness, muscle cramps, dehydration, dizziness, confusion, and rapid heart rate. As with any dog related behavior or disease our four legged friends cannot communicate what they are experiencing. As a pet owner you have a responsibility to know your pet, know their behaviors and also show the common sense required to prevent heat exhaustion.
When I read about pets being left in sealed up cars, no moving air, no windows cracked, no access to water and the dogs end up near death or worse, they pass away it just breaks my heart. They are not the ones that did anything wrong but stay behind like they were told to do. This is unnecessary and undeserved.
I have a black vehicle and my dog likes to go everywhere with us. She has a fresh supply of water in the truck daily. If we take her for a walk in a sunny area we carry a small dish and bottle of water and stop and offer her drinks several times along he way. Typically we like to keep her somewhere that is partially shaded but the same rules apply. If we leave her in the truck, the windows are cracked - all of them! She has food and water, she is parked in a shaded area and we have a fan that operates off the battery going. If we need to be more than about 15 minutes we go and check on her to make sure she is comfortable and we check the inside temp of the truck to know what she is sitting in.
When she is outdoors she relaxes in a covered custom cedar dog house as well that has an air conditioning unit. Some think this is over the top but why wouldn't you keep them comfortable outside just like you do when they are inside.
Make sure to be in tune with your Dog. Being a responsible pet owner does not stop at the door of the house. The most dangerous elements to them are the environment, disease carrying bugs, and extreme temperatures - whether it is heat or cold. Your best friend needs your consideration during these hot months. I'd hate to read another story of people having to smash a car window to get out an animal to save it's live. It should never have been left in there in the first place!

The Advantages Of Climate Controlled Doghouses
Pet owners today like to cater to the needs of their pets. These needs include keeping them warm in the winter months, especially if dogs and cats spend time outdoors. To make sure that their animal stays warm during cold winter weather, many owners of outdoor dogs buy heated dog houses.
The heating components on these animal shelters typically use electricity to operate. They can be plugged into an outside outlet and attached to the dog's home. The temperatures on the heating units maintain a steady temperature, low enough to ensure that it is not a fire hazard, yet warm enough to keep the pet comfortable.
Many of these specialty homes are custom made and assembled only after the owner has ordered the house. Because they are still relatively new to the animal care market, some businesses only show them by appointment to people.
However, once a person decides to purchase one, the house can be put together in a reasonable amount of time. They are able to be loaded into the back of a truck or van and then transported to that person's house. Once they are unloaded, people may then plug the heating unit into the outlet and warm up the shelter.

What Some Interesting Tidbits About Dogs?
For those that are Dog owners (or parents if you prefer) some of these facts you may not have considered but you will find interesting. For example, it makes perfect sense to learn that individuals that are Pet owners live longer than those that are not. They report less stress in their lives and studies have shown that pet owners suffer fewer heart attacks as well. Hand in hand with this, studies report that 94 percent of pet owners say that their pets make them smile more than once a day.Our pets truly become members of the family. More than 70 percent of us will sign our pets name on a greeting card and almost 60 percent will include them in the family holiday portrait. Well of course! They are family after all. On the topic of pictures keep in mind that your pet does not shy away from the camera if they are not happy with their hair or makeup or if they are not wearing something they feel good in. Statistics report that almost 40 percent admit to having more photos of their pet than their 'significant other' ... and about 20 percent insist they have more of their spouse or partner than their pet. So what about that other 40 percent? Undecided? No pets? Or were they 'asked' in front of their partner and dodged the question?
In the United States alone there are more than 100 million cats and dogs and pet owners spend more than 5.4 billion dollars on their pets in a given year. Yes, you heard me right that was 5.4 Billion! Pet food constitutes 1.5 billion of this number which is said to be four times more than the amount spent on baby food in a year. Given that dogs have far fewer taste buds than humans they are drawn to their food primarily by the smell. What your dog eats or is willing to eat is largely determined but the human owner and their perceptions of their pets, their food preferences, the setting where they feed the animal and smell and texture of the food. We are the ones that create the overfed fat dog and we are the ones that are supporting this 1.5 billion dollar a year pet food market.
We do it all out of love. We shower them with things that make them feel safe, appreciated and protected by us. It's the least we can do for these four legged friends that help our health and make us smile.

Dog Houses with Climate controlYour pets comfort and health are always of utmost importance. If you want your dog to stay comfortable all year you will want to consider purchasing a climate-controlled system for your dog's house. The houses can be ordered complete with a heating and cooling system. You can also order a cooling and heating unit to attach to a suitable dog house. Suitable houses meaning wood construction and properly insulated. Either way the units are made to regulate the climate in your dogs' house.
The way the climate controlled system works to provide safety and comfort for your pet all year round. The system acts as a heater in the cold weather that will keep your pets home comfortable and as an air conditioner for hot summer days. It is made to operate in the same way a heating and cooling system placed in your home would act. There are different settings on the unit such as cold, off, hot and also a setting to get just the right temperature to provide your pet with the most comfort possible. The climate-controlled system operates efficiently using little power when installed in an insulated house. It only uses about the power of several light bulbs with low cooling cost each day. A thermostat operates the unit for the right temperature all during the year. An insulated, climate-controlled dog house will operate quietly and the sturdy design means it holds up to all kinds of weather.
The climate-controlled unit is easy to install. It comes with a flexible air duct that will allow you to mount the unit to the outside of the dog house. Most of the time they are placed on the back of the dog house, which means your dog still has easy access to their front door. Some systems come with a dehumidifier and filters that can be washed removing pet dandruff and allergens. If we have breathing issues, so can they! There is little maintenance required, just replacing the air filter every month or so.
Our pets are like members of our family. Keeping any member of the family healthy and happy is what everyone wants to achieve. Choosing a climate controlled dog house can be a smart decision for a happy and healthier pet. Keeping them warm and cozy in the winter and cool and breathing easy in the summer.

- Any air conditioner will sooner or later require repair. Proper air conditioning maintenance is needed in order to cut down on air conditioning repair costs. If the air-conditioning repair called for is quite simple, perhaps you can even try to do it yourself to further save money. Some troubleshooting procedures are very easy to do and are, in fact, part of maintenance. air conditioner covers

That is where a climate control unit comes in handy rather than just have a single function heater for the dog house you can have a unit that completely controls the dog house environment year round!
