Why Airsoft is Popular to Men?

I remember when I was still a kid we use to play Cowboys and Indians pretending to be like the wild west hero Jesse James and the tomahawk wielding apache Geronimo. I also had those water guns that my mom bought me and I squirted and sprayed massive amount of water in our neighbor's face all day like they were laser guns till our water bill got high. And so on with rubbers flying all over the place and plastic BB's from our pellet guns. Later on we became matured enough to be ashamed of it and was engulfed in an unreal world of 3d and illusion playing shooter games in computers but as soon as we found out about a hobby called Airsoft, even if we're adults we just can't help but get back to being a kid again. It was an elixir that made every boys dream come true.

Airsoft is a modern combat sport or a recreational hobby in which participants eliminate opponents in a skirmish or military simulation by hitting each other with projectile BB's or plastic spherical pellets from a gun that is powered by gas, spring load or an electrically powered gearbox. Externally an airsoft gun replicates a real gun but was never considered as a firearm because of the fact that it does not require fire and gun powder to cause combustion to shoot projectiles out of it's barrel. However even though it is just a toy it can still cause serious injuries that is why each participants who plays airsoft is required to wear protective gears similar to what military use during battle.

When playing such game our eyes are the most important part that needs to be protected. It is the most vulnerable part of the human body that when it becomes hit can cause loss of vision or blindness. An ordinary reading glasses or a sunglasses is not enough to protect our eyes from these high velocity plastic bb's. A specialized goggles or a safety mask that could withstand high impact is fully required, so you might as well put away those luxurious eyewears cause it doesn't stand a chance against high speed projectiles.

The speed of the projectiles that shoots out of an airsoft gun or an AEG (Automatic Electric Gun) is measured in feet per seconds. Mostly airsoft guns fire bb's at a velocity of 100 FPS to 700 FPS with a range of about 50 to a 100+ meters however for safety reasons, in other countries an AEG that shoots bb's exceeding 340FPS are not allowed.

Unlike any other toy guns an AEG is not allowed to be played anywhere outdoors. Airsoft participants are only allowed to play wargames in a designated battlefield where it cannot cause any harm to civilians and bystanders. Even though an AEG is not real, as an airsoft enthusiasts we should take responsibility of our actions when using such alarming things in public and carry them wisely. Like they said treat them as though they are real.
