The Akron & District Pipe Band
The historic performance Pipes and Drums of the Akron & District Pipe Band has been entertaining and thrilling audiences in the Northeast Ohio area and throughout the Midwest for over 25 years. The Akron Pipe Band plays under the leadership of Pipe Major Tim Wiley and Drum Major Tim Barton.
A family-friendly band, the Akron & District boasts excellent instructors in piping and drumming, and a busy schedule of performances throughout Ohio year round. Lessons are available for kids from ages 10+. Many are adults just starting out or returning to playing the pipes.
Whether it's a festival, a wedding, a parade, military homecoming, honoring our fallen heroes, thanking our veterans, or just celebrating the day, the Akron & District Pipe Band brings joy and smiles to kids of all ages.

Performance Excellence
The Akron & District Way
Our band is a performance band, pursuing excellence in the British military tradition of pipe bands. We play regularly at festivals, some of which we have been playing at for over a quarter of a century! That's tradition! In this picture, we are playing at the Malvern, Ohio "Great Trails Festival." Where you can find us!
Interested in learning the bagpipes yourself?
Lessons begin at 6:30 pm every Monday night.
Band Practice follows, usually around 7:30 pm, every Monday night.
