My journey in direct sales began after I had been using a product for years and found out that if I join, I could then purchase it at 50% off!! What girl wouldn't want to get their favorite makeup and skin care at cost?!!

Never in a million years would I ever think of selling it! I was shy, insecure; a single mom raising 3 small boys and working outside the home. When would I find the time and why on earth would I try to change my life for the better, I was comfortable living in stress and anxiety!? Well, one thing led to another and oops... I started selling!

The money was great when I would sell something, but I was having trouble getting more customers. When you are selling $0, even your potential 50% profit is still $0! I was mortified going to the mall and walking up to perfect strangers. Sure they told me that there is a "3 foot rule", but I couldn't even make it to 20 feet.

The phone weighed 10,000 pounds. I hated "bothering", I mean calling my customers. I tried booking blitzes, where I would sit and try to call all my friends and family to book a class for me. For some reason they wouldn't answer their phones, was everyone on vacation at the same time? Uhmmm! Duhh!

Let me tell you these techniques do work for some, but not for me. Back in the 1960's women mainly stayed home with their children. Now the Today Woman is wearing many, many hats. She wakes up early in the morning and starts her day with her children, husband, daycare, work, after school activities, supermarket, dinner, homework, baths, bedtime stories, prayers, cleaning up, making lunches for the next day and then maybe she can lie down and fall asleep, exhausted.

Do you think the average woman has time to host a "party" or a "class" at her house? Some do, but few can or even have the energy to do so. This is when I knew that I had to do something else.

The turning point happened when I watched "The Secret". I realized I had been attracting all the negativity in my life. I started focusing on the positive in my life and more positive things came to me.

I wanted to try to market my business but didn't know how. I was hearing "multiple streams of income", but multiple streams of my income were going to others not to me!

I was struggling, I was joining the next new Wowz fads, the make more money fad, the unbelievable opportunity that will change your business fad, the pay $32.95 month for nothing fad, pay per clicks and advertising, do I need to go on?!

So I have been very busy doing both! I hope each one of you are also working on your fortune. 

Fortune to me is not only money, but time. Time is valuable, to actually have the free time to spend with our families and time to travel and enjoy life.
