Who is Alexander Hamilton

1. Alexander Hamilton was one of the Founding Fathers of the US.

2. Alexander Hamilton was chosen as first United States Secretary of the Treasury and thus eventually wound up on the $10 bill.

3. We also have him to thank for establishing federal taxes on whiskey.

Alexander Hamilton was born in Nevis, in the West Indies. There is now and Alexander Hamilton Museum in Charlestown, Nevis at his birthplace. This is of historical significance to most, and genealogical interest to me. Alexander Hamilton's brother James Hamilton was one of my ancestors thus this building was likely his birthplace as well. From what I gather, my great-many-times grandfather James Hamilton was not quite the natural born leader that his famous brother, and instead frittered away his life in the West Indies. As I recall, James once wrote his brother Alexander asking for money, and Alexander wrote back that he should get a job (or something along those lines).
