EARTHRISE THE LEADER IN BLUE GREEN ALGAE
Earthrise opened it's doors in 1979, and after years of research, Earthrise introduced Spirulina to an eager natural foods market. In 1982, the great people at Earthrise decided to build the first U.S. Spirulina farm to grow this green superfood in the pure California desert sunshine using ecological, earth-friendly methods.Since the first Rising of the Earth was seen by the Apollo astronauts from the moon's surface in 1969. The wonderful people at Earthrise use this powerful image to represent the awakening of this amazing productour living planet, our home. Earthrise was chosen as our trademark in 1978 when we first introduced Spirulina blue-green algae. This rediscovery of the origins of life brought remarkable health benefits to ourselves, our society and our planet. And so we have dedicated these gifts to a new awareness of our Earth Rising.

he 10th International Conference on Applied Phycology & the 2nd Congress of International Society of Applied Phycology
The conference, held in Kunming, China from the 24th to the 28th of July 2005 and sponsored by the Institute of Hydrobiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences and the International Society for Applied Phycology (ISAP) with support from other organizations
The objective of the conference was to provide an international forum for the largest and most comprehensive exchange of scientific information on the latest progress of research and development in the algal biotechnology, applied phycology and related fields and to promote mutual interactions and understanding among participants.
During four days of intensive activities, the international conference supported nine keynote lectures and highlighted more than 100 research topics in both the oral and poster sessions. Relevant and current issues on applied phycology were treated in parallel sessions under five major categories. Dr. Amha Belay, Scientific Director for Earthrise Nutritionals, was honored with a request to present a discussion entitled "Microalgae and Health: Spirulina (Arthrospira) as a case in point".
Towards the end of this meeting, the general assembly voted to elect new membership for the Executive Committee. Dr. Amha Belay, who is a founding member of this society, was re-elected for the third time, extending his service.
AARP Article's Recommendation on Healthy Foods You Should Be Eating
5 Foods That Can Add Years to Your Life
2. Cranberries, blueberries, blackberries These are jam-packed with antioxidants called anthocyanins and polyphenols, which also have anti-inflammatory qualities. Try to work in a cup of berries a day.
3. Leafy greens (such as kale or spinach) They're full of lutein, another super-antioxidant; it's been proven to protect against macular degeneration of the optic nerves, thus protecting eyesight. Scientists recommend eating a cup of cooked kale or one to two cups of raw spinach each day.
4. Almonds and walnuts These nuts are a fantastic source of omega-6 fatty acids, as well as phytosterols (plant sterols) and vitamin E (tocopherols). People who regularly consume nuts tend to have both a lowered risk of Parkinson's and lower cholesterol. Try to eat a quarter cup of these nuts a day whenever you can.
5. Flaxseed It contains fiber and omega-3 fatty acids that help to clear plaque and bad fats from the cardiovascular system. The fiber also protects against colon cancer. For best results, buy flaxseed ground (or grind it yourself) and throw one teaspoon to one tablespoon a day into everything from meat loaf to muffins.
Finally, don't forget to add these superfoods into a diet rich with lean meat, fish, and whole grains.

But what makes Spirulina so special is SYNERGY. Synergy is where 1 + 1 = 3 or 4 or 5 or more. Here's an example of synergy: If you mix tin, which is a soft metal, with copper, which is a soft metal, you should get a soft metal. But you don't, you get super strong bronze.
There are two problems that I see it with taking spirulina. One is that it doesn't always taste so good. Some brands make some people feel nauseous. This may be because of toxins from contaminant algae.
Secondly, most health food stores don't seem to realise this is a FOOD rather than a supplement. Their prices are way too exorbitant, especially if you want to take it in quantity.
I have solved the taste problem by finally finding the best tasting spirulina I have ever found - Earthrise. Earthrise is the leader in algae safety research. It has developed a new method for detecting toxins from contaminant algae. To me, the tablets are so good, you can eat them rather than just swallowing them. This is good because it is always a good idea to let your stomach know what is on the way, so that it can prepare for it. To people not used to spirulina it may not taste 'good' like as in 'chocolate-good' - but your body will go YUM. The taste is very fresh, without that 'fishy' taste some have. And if you have problem swallowing them, there is a new "Tiny Tabs" brand which has much smaller tablets.
As for the price, we are offering substantial discounts, especially for bulk orders.
It is suggested that as well as taking Spirulina as part of your regular diet, that you have tablets on hand at all times. If you get tired, can't think clearly or have sugar cravings, take six to see what happens. To really save money, buy a four pound bag of powder, and take it in a smoothie drink, sprinkle it on salads and in curries, meals etc. (remembering that it's best to have it uncooked) or make your own capsules.
SPIRULINA VS. WILD BLUE GREEN ALGAE
NO TOXINS IN SPIRULINA
Comparing Spirulina vs. Wild Blue-Green AlgaeHow Spirulina Is Different From Wild Blue-Green Algae
Spirulina Is the Safe Blue-Green Algae
Many people have asked about the differences between Spirulina and wild blue-green algae harvested from lakes. Spirulina is one particular kind of blue-green algae with a centuries long history of safe human consumption. It is well known to be safe and nutritious. Hundreds of published scientific studies over the past thirty years have documented no toxicity.
Some Wild Blue-Green Algae Are Toxic
Blue-green algae is also called cyanobacteria. Wild species grow in lakes and waterways, consuming whatever nutrients are in the water. Some species of cyanobacteria are toxic just like mushrooms and some land plants. Most kinds of microcystis, anabaena and aphanizomenon flos-aquae are toxic. Wild blue-green algae has not been subject to Spirulina's long safety testing. Aphanizomenon flos-aquae under the microscope.) Companies that harvest wild species of blue-green algae from natural lakes cannot have the same degree of control as growing Spirulina at Earthrise Nutritionals' farm. Harvesting wild algae presents a far greater risk of contamination by cyanobacterial toxins.
Spirulina Can Be Cultivated In a Controlled Environment
Spirulina can be cultivated in a monoculture, uncontaminated by other cyanobacteria. Farms can be specially designed and operated to produce Spirulina under controlled conditions that do not allow the growth of other contaminant cyanobacteria as in lakes and waterways. Finally, at Earthrise Nutritionals, 40 quality control tests assure Spirulina meets all international food safety and quality standards. It is already known to be safe and nutritious, and the technology and quality control at an advanced farm assures purity and safety.
Algal Toxin Safety Research
Because of the concern about toxic blue-algae growing in lakes, Earthrise Nutritionals developed a program to assure these toxic algae are not present in Spirulina ponds. First, daily microscopic examinations of the living culture. Second, farm scientists developed in cooperation with university researchers, immunoassay and enzyme inhibition bioassay methods to detect nanogram levels of toxins. Very few laboratories in the world are capable of such analysis.

- Hi I came across your lens...Really Cool :-) Snoring is a bigger issue in relationships than what many of my friends and experts had originally thought. Snoring is a real problem that at times can separate a couple within their own home and eventually break up a marriage or relationship without really knowing that snoring was the original underlying culprit. Visit also my site and see some other cool stuff for people who snore!
