Give a person a pen and they will doodle, give them a field and they will crop circle or doodle real big.

I think they're pretty, but totally man-made and mostly done on purpose by artistic farmers or farm workers.

Thank you for this lens! Crop circles are just so interesting, as with the mystery of extra-terrestrial life in general. Great lens!

This lens reminds me film with Mel Gibson. I don't know the name of it, but I know that there were these circles too and quite reasonable explanation of them too. Great lens.

Crop circle fascinate me. I'd like to think we get alien (outer space not other country) visitors from time to time, but who knows. Blessings.

I have never seen such a big circles and wonder how any one or machine could make them. If some human entity would be making it then it would have taken days or months and had captured media attention.

What I Feel is that this are really made by some alien entity which thrills me. Wanna know more about aliens and wish to meet 1 some day.

Lovely work! Be blessed with such wonderful ideas in your mind.

Vary amazing pictures ! Why they are in circular format only is the quickest question comes to mind and do we have any instances of a similar pattern appearing on two remote places. You have written it well and maintained the curiosity during this article. Liked it !!

Crop circles are interesting. I don't believe aliens made them, but then again, I wouldn't bet money on it! :)
  • futurefocus57 May 22, 2012 @ 3:15 am | delete
I have seen video of people making them, and they did a pretty good job, but I can't imagine them making some of the more intricate versions with their technique. It's definitely something else.

crop circles are a mystery but, if they are constructed by aliens where do the aliens come from and, how do they travel here bearing in mind the velocities that thier craft would have to travel at. This does not seem logical unless Einstine has it all wrong.

Crop circles have always fascinated me. Some are manmade as artwork, others like the Nazca Peruvian lines are mysterious, though these are not cirlces.

I think that some are hoaxes, some are not hoaxed but still made by man (not for the intention of hoaxing) and there are still some that are created by aliens.

    Nice lens and great subject.

  • Jadelynx Mar 9, 2012 @ 12:29 pm | delete
I am sure some are hoaxes, but I believe the majority of them are real. I am not sure if aliens have anything to do with it, but something intelligent is doing it, it clearly is not random. I would love to know what :) Very nice lens !

I believe that some are fake and some are real.
  • OHNO2011 Dec 22, 2011 @ 2:55 pm | delete
I don't see to believe. Outer spacers. Arcturians have claim some of them, not all of them. I would think the artists would claim these beautiful works, and the messages that are contained in some are mind-boggling. Fascinating subject.
  • madinvestment Oct 26, 2011 @ 12:29 am | delete
I do not believe they are alien related. However, I do believe it has something to do with energy. Some type of phenomenon that man has yet to understand. Might have something to do with dark matter energy.

  • SeanVernall Jun 3, 2011 @ 5:14 am | delete
Crop circles are very impressive, but I think they are just a form of art produced by some very creative 'human' artists... Now the Nazca lines in Peru I think are a different story.
  • jptanabe Jun 11, 2011 @ 3:49 pm | delete
Well I certainly agree the Nazca Lines are quite out of this world!

I've always wondered where do these crop circles come from and, when I read something about them, I always end up not knowing what to believe. Then, I just say to myself that they're incredibly beautiful and creative ;)
  • jptanabe Feb 19, 2011 @ 8:19 am | delete
I agree! When I watched the video with footage of crop circles I was so in awe of their size, complexity and beauty. The question of whoever/whatever made them pales in significance compared to how amazing these creations are!

I really don't know what to think........... It is a puzzling subject to say the least..... Great topic JP!!
  • Richard_Ark Jan 6, 2011 @ 11:50 am | delete
Great Subject!! I did see a program years ago proving that crop circles were made by wind - I cant remember anything about the program & can only assume they meant crop circles were formed when two separate winds meet - lets say for example a northerly and southerly wind the point at which they meet would have to cause some sort of clash & the strongest wind prevailing and continuing on its path leaving behind if it happened over a crop field these so called crop circles - I do remember that the winds would have to pass over a hill top to generate a swirling action also who's to say the guys that say they made them aren't hoaxes - like i said a great subject & the circles always look amazing !!
  • peter222999 Dec 28, 2010 @ 4:44 pm | delete
I do believe that the True crop circles are indeed the creation of a Extraterrestrial presense.
I realize this is a stretch for some, but I hope we can agree that whomever, of whatever creates these is trying to convey a message. I can think of no natural phenomenon which could create these designs in such detail. While many are now created humans, there are indeed legitimate signs being left for us. I have created some digital art at zazzle, if you wish to have some fun.
  • jptanabe Dec 28, 2010 @ 5:09 pm | delete
Thanks for your comment, Peter. I actually have one of your crop circle posters featured already. Maybe I should add another one!
  • peter222999 Dec 29, 2010 @ 12:25 pm | delete
Yes , I meant to thank you for posting the first one. I have made several much improved versions as I have grown in skills. I also thought that I would mention that I have a feeling there may be some significance to the mathematics involved in these signs, I believe there is some research being done on this, but it may well hold a key to understanding the messages. By mathematics of course I mean the measured dimensions of the patterns. Especially since we feel mathematics is a universal language. Take care, peter222999 I will be passing your site along as soon as I figure the ways, I have not learned much about squido yet !!

Kids have been busted reproducing these crop circles however some are so dynamic and unique, that they can only be done by technology we don't know about because they are usually done in one night. If you want to read more about aliens and conspiracies visit my site -> Nibiru

  • Squidoo_Queen Sep 24, 2010 @ 5:01 pm | delete
Hmmmm, I'm guessing that one day we'll know for sure! Lets just hope that if/when they do arrive they don't feel hungry ;)
  • oneskms Sep 19, 2010 @ 6:13 am | delete
Perhaps would be nice if crop circles did come from 'outside' visitors but if they have technology to both visit us and leave clues without a hint of being discovered I would think they might leave more than a circle in a crop of wheat. I am not dissmissing the idea of other life forms out there but I think crop circles are a great hoax within our own species
  • nukemdomis Sep 15, 2010 @ 4:17 pm | delete
Human made. An alien with the technology to make a crop circle would also have the technology to carve these "circles" into rock and not just crop fields. Making a rock circle would sure last a lot longer than a crop circle.
  • jptanabe Sep 15, 2010 @ 4:36 pm | delete
Love that idea! You know, there are lines in the desert in Peru, Nazca Lines, that have lasted a long time - my lens asks whether they were made by aliens too!
  • BobG Oct 6, 2010 @ 12:30 am | delete
Thinks about it. Why would any humans make these intricate designs without wanting to take some credit and gain great admiration for these unquestionably amazing pieces of art? Very few artists would not want to take credit for so much work over so many years. They would be celebrated and deserving of attention and prestige for their masterful techniques. But there have been no obvious and noticeable signs of any human activity in the end results of the designs. No track marks into the enclosed designs that are not crossed by the farm vehicle tram lines, no mistakes (no signs of falling over or wrong turns), perfect symmetry in both the small and large scale components, intricate weaving patterns of the flattened crop stalks themselves (both clockwise and counter-clockwise patterns within the same circle), stalks are bent but not broken (no signs of being trampled upon), The completed pattern is only visible from the air so checking on progress is impossible from the ground, at night. Some people have tried to duplicate some of the simpler designs but could only accomplish their design over several days. The crop fields are really a perfect "canvass" to get your message noticed because it can be renewed every season. No one could steal them or hide them from the public. The progression of designs have been noticeably more complex as the years have passed, with encoded messages in recent years. Also, what kind of wooden boards leaves electro-magnetic energy behind that effects both the plants and seeds within the affected design? Seed from within the designs have been shown to grow taller and stronger than seeds taken from outside the design. In addition, the flattened stalks continue to grow, they are not damaged, only bent and not broken at all. Other interesting phenomenon and incidents have also occurred near these circles that have caught the interest of the public as well as the government. Looks like some sort of conscious intelligence is at work here!

i believe most of them are human made, but i'm not sure for the simple ones (circles).

An excellent lens on the bizarre phenomenon of crop circles.

I've lensrolled you to my Alien Intrusion lens.
  • InvaderT3ch Jul 31, 2010 @ 2:59 pm | delete
i really like all the theory's on crop circles but i only believe one. some people a few years back searched a crop circle up and down only to find parts of the crop that had fallen over were done threw heat a microwave of some sort. the stalks were not broken but they fell over none the less due to the intensity of the heat. this idea is great but someone found a stalk with a hole threw it. as if someone had shot it with a BB gun. they searched with metal detectors only to find small metal balls going across the crop in a diagonal form. my theory on this is simple. if you ever saw X men the one where Magnito breaks out of the plastic prison you'll understand better my idea. when he pulls iron out of the security officers blood you'll notice they are small metal balls which he can control and make them do anything. now what if lets just say a UFO had the power to spin metal balls like the ones found; so fast that they actually heated up. if a UFO flew low enough when these metal balls were being spun they could heat the crops and the UFOs could simply make what ever design they wanted just by controlling these balls. now here's something even better, what if the balls are magnetic? that would explain how the friction would be created kinda like those toys you can buy that make sounds when they collide. anyways here's a really great video that pertains to this subject.

Crop circles are another great "hot-spot" if you want to position yourself to capture an alien. We have not had much success in the capture of aliens near crop circle areas, however we have had reports from friends in the UK that have had some luck capturing aliens near crop circles.
