I hope you can glean some useful information about making a little extra money while staying at home with your kids. Below are things I have tried or researched and plan to try. Everything I try is FREE, and you should be very skeptical of any organization asking you to pay money, as often its a scam. Things I've tried include paid surveys, "get paid to" sites, legitimate online jobs, as well as some "paid to play" game sites.
Before I join, I research each company/site to make sure it is legitmate, and that people have been paid from it. There are lots of scams you don't want to be a part of! Always check out reviews of companies before you join. As I learn more, I will update the site! No, you won't get rich by trying these ideas, but you will get a little extra money to go out to eat, buy gifts, or get something nice for home. Legitimate Jobs You Can Do at Home
There are quite a few jobs that you can do from home, including sales, data entry, marketing, transcriptionist, etc. But I found some interesting and easy ones that don't involved special educaton, or money to start out:
1. ejury.com & onlineverdict.com - If you've ever been interested in the legal system, you can register to be a "web juror" and "help attorneys determine case value, develop case themes, find the facts to emphasize, and learn "public" attitudes." I haven't tried it yet, but plan to. Let me know if you have experience.
2. keyforcash.com - Get paid for easy data entry. I have registered for this, but there is a waiting list to get started.
3. Amazon Mechanical Turk - Get paid to do jobs that a computer can't do for people. Some pay very little. I'm not sure if I'm going to try this, let me know if you do.
4. Kasamba & Just Answer- Both pay you to answer questions for people, lots of different fields of expertise. Haven't tried it yet, but sounds interesting.
5. ChaCha - Similar to the last two, but you get paid for helping people find things on the internet.

Extra Cash from "GPT" Sites
"Get Paid To" sites are places you can make a little extra money by completing offers, doing surveys, and joining contests among others. I'm new to this, but am learning quickly. There are alot of offers that don't require a credit card, so don't think you have to use one. I never do, unless its something I really want. Make Money Taking Surveys
You've probably heard about taking surveys to make money. There's definately legitmate sites, offering anywhere from prizes to $.50-$5.00 or more for the survey. Pay can depend on the length and type of survey. The following sites I have tried and checked to make sure they pay. They are legitimate.

Pinecone Research - The best in my opinion as you always get paid, and usually its $3-$5 per survey. I was a part of it 2 years ago but didn't keep up, so I'm trying to get back in now. To get invited, you have to register by finding an ad banner, and then it depends on the type of people they are looking for at the time. This site keeps up with the banners: Annika's
Opinion Outpost - Fun layout, and I just started this week and already made $2.60. Ask for an invite or visit the site.
Surveysavvy - Just joined recently. Easy to navigate. Ask for an invite!
American Consumer Opinion - They send surveys periodically.
Clear Voice Surveys - They will send surveys periodically. The first one I received was for $2.50.
FGI Research - I've taken a few surveys, but don't always qualify.
Buzzback Panel - Haven't done much, but I've heard good reviews.
Global Test Market - Also has good reviews, and some test products. Hopefully I'll make some money on this one.

I stumbled across these two sites that are completely free and both had positive reviews where people have been paid. I just learned about these, so I don't know all the ins/outs, but if you want a little more money check them out:
