- The year was 1958. I was six years old and my mom bought me my
first baseball glove. I remember that she got it at Woolsworth on greenville
ave. [Dallas, Texas]. The glove had Al Kaline's signature on it and from that
day on I followed Al Kaline and the Tigers, reading the box scores everyday!
Al Kaline was my hero [still is].s

- My older brother already had #6 for his favorite, so I had to go elsewhere for my favorite player. My first favorite was #7 (Harvey Kueen) and then Rocky Colovito. But in retrospec, I always had #6 on top. Don't tell my brother.

- What can I say.He was a great player and even though Im from Jersey ,I'll die a tiger fan because of what Al kaline did for the game and baseball and living in Passaic ,nj a factory working city like in detroit, people like in detroit love thier baseball and al Kaline was the working mans choice to watch even in Jersey.HE made the tigers great.Al you are a man of the working class and I'll always remember watching you in the 60's and 70's growing up.It was exciting to see you play and the players on detroit today are exciting and I SEE the hunger in thier eyes to get back to the series. All I have to say is God bless you and the Tigers and thanks for the memories and more to come.Ronnie.D Scottsdale,AZ..................
