I believe in Angels so Come with me on a beautiful spiritual journey and find out all about angels. Angels give us a feeling of inner spirituality, comfort and security, people readily tell us of their own encounters with angels, as they help to guide our way, In times of distress, and upset we search for answers. A need to know that there is something for people to believe in, hope that there is a greater good out there, and at one time in our lives hope to encounter Angels no matter what shape or form we see them in.

What we envisage most Angels look like

People talk of Angels being present in times of danger or harm, they are present when we experience euphoric feelings of happiness, as was described when the they heralded the Birth of Baby Jesus, at Christmas time. Again when he rose at Easter.

The vision of an Angel about the only sign of peace, calm danger and happiness all in one.
People say that the Angels "walk amongst us" unseen, no matter what your beliefs or religion people really do want and sometimes need to believe, that there is something guiding us, sometimes just knowing they are around all the time brings comfort.

The image of an angel brings comfort to us in times of trouble, illness and gives comfort to those around. But we should remember that Angels were around in these happy times too.

Angels in the Bible

Righteous, Holiness and glory
In my work for the Church of Scotland, it was part of my duties to teach the children about god, and the place god has in our life, I always found they loved the angels, and stories of Angels, and finding something that interested them did indeed make teaching easier, and we did indeed learn a lot about Angels. As we worked for the church we had to be active (yes this was a stipulation of employment, and we were exempt from the discrimination act! )

So here is some of what I know.
A little bit about angels - do you know what these words mean?
We believe that God created the angels immediately after He had created the heavens,
according to Job 38:4-7, "the sons of God shouted for joy" when He laid the foundations of the earth.

Their appearance is sometimes in dazzling white and blazing glory (Matthew 28:2-4).

According to the Bible, there are four different kinds of spirit creatures,
Angels(Psalm 91:11), Cherubim(Genesis 3:24), Seraphim(Isaiah 6:6) Seraphim bear God's holiness and
The Archangel Jude 9- of which there is only ONE, meaning 'chief angel'

The word 'Cherubim' is the plural for 'Cherub' (also called 'cherubs').
...same with 'seraphim' and seraphs....
We know that God's divine attributes are righteousness, holiness, and glory.
Righteousness is the foundation of His throne;
holiness is He, Himself (only God is holy),
and glory is God expressed in His divine attributes of light, love, etc.
Cherubs guard God's glory (Gen. 3:24),
Seraphim bear God's holiness (Isaiah 6:2). According to the book of Hebrews in the New Testament, angels are "ministering spirits" who minister to us, Christians.

All this information can be found in the Bible, but these are passages that have meant a lot to me throughout the years, and kind of just stuck in there, with a few other Quotes from the Bible.

Another poem about angels in times of need

The most wonderful poem today is "footprints" It explains that although you may not feel the presence of god or someone watching over us, it is indeed these times when he carries us to saftey, I love the picture it creates in your mind, that you may feel alone, but you are not.

Mary Stevenson wrote this herself as a teenager, and would give this to her friends or family in times of need, it was not until years later that an original copy was found and eventually copyrighted after Mary battled to get an original copy authenticated

I left home at an early age, and my dad bought this for me, although now covered in paint splat, coffee stains, I still have it to this day.

One night I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord.
Many scenes from my life flashed across the sky.
In each scene I noticed footprints in the sand.
Sometimes there were two sets of footprints,
other times there were one set of footprints.

This bothered me because I noticed
that during the low periods of my life,
when I was suffering from
anguish, sorrow or defeat,
I could see only one set of footprints.

So I said to the Lord,
"You promised me Lord,
that if I followed you,
you would walk with me always.
But I have noticed that during
the most trying periods of my life
there have only been one
set of footprints in the sand.
Why, when I needed you most,
you have not been there for me?"
