*He worked as a leaf blower operator in the early 1990s. This was one of the low-paying jobs he held while trying to make a career as a musician.
*He finally released his first studio album, Golden Feelings, in 1993. It has been estimated that 500-750 copies were made of the album.

*His album Odelay was awarded Album of the Year by Rolling Stone magazine, NME, and Mojo. It was also nominated for Album of the Year Grammy.
