Supposedly when I was four years old, you could name any driver and I could tell you his number and sponsor (or vice versa!). I actually dreamed of being a woman NASCAR driver when i was younger. As I got older, I started to realize that may not be a completely realistic dream, but I did think about studying engineering and car mechanics. I wanted to be the person who work for NASCAR Research and Development (NRD) and design new cars and new solutions, etc. I've changed my mind since then and no longer plan on pursuing engineering or NASCAR as a career, but nevertheless, the sport has always fascinated me.

What I Like About NASCAR
I like NASCAR because I think it requires much skill and talent to design a car and train a driver to beat 42 other cars in a race. Some people may say that NASCAR is just a bunch of cars going around in circles at ridiculous speeds. However, I believe there is more of a science to it than just that. I believe that it takes skill to design a car to perform at its peak. It is also very strenuous on the driver to train for races. It's very hot inside the car. The cars are pretty hard to control. Anyone who says NASCAR is a non athletic sport hasn't obviously driven a stock car. It's also a game of strategy. Teams have to come up with the perfect plan to beat all the other cars out there. They do this in several ways, such as design of the car, engine performance, driver training, etc. So, for those who say NASCAR isn't a sport, then I don't think they have thought about everything that goes into it. It's much more than just drivers running around a circle.
