What Does All Natural Beekeeping Mean?
With the growing attraction of organic honey, many beekeepers have been incorporating more natural beekeeping methods. This means raising bees that are free from pesticides, fed natural food, and kept in a more natural habitat.
Natural beekeeping is very rewarding not only for the appeal of organic honey, but also because you are helping the environment and maintaining the ecosystem. This benefits the whole planet as well as future generations to come.

Natural Beekeeping and Organic Honey
To get your honey to be certified organic you will need to meet several requirements.
Meeting the requirements to label your honey as organic can be difficult if not impossible for some beekeepers because of where they live. This shouldn't stop you from using natural beekeeping methods as it has many other rewards. The first thing you need to take into account when thinking about natural beekeeping and getting certified to label you honey as organic is the placement of the hive. The hive must be in an isolated location away from pollutants that come from towns, roads, landfills, and other such contaminated sources.
The bees must also have a natural source of water and pollen nearby that they can visit freely and frequently. A large secluded property with a lake or pond and a wildflower field is the perfect natural habitat for bees.

Caring For Bees Naturally
To be an all natural beekeeper you must not use any chemicals to treat pests. The bees must also have a natural supply of water, pollen, and honey. Sugar water and syrups have a higher ph level and is not natural for the bees to digest, although this is the most common method of feeding bees by non natural beekeepers. The hive must also have a more natural shape and size. Most hives constructed today used combs that are slightly larger than natural combs so the bees grow unnaturally large.
To you believe in using all natural beekeeping methods?
The use of chemicals and sugar syrups is the most easy and common method for keeping bees. Natural beekeeping is harder but more satisfying and better for the environment. Where do you stand on the matter?
