Identity Theft is rising on a daily basis and it is not just happpening here in the good old US of A. People overseas are stealing identity at a rampant opace and there is not much we can do about it except lay the ground work for our own Identity Theft Protection

It only takes a few extra minutes here and there to protect yourself from Identity Theft. If you fail to spend these extra minutes protecting yourself it could cost you countless hours and thousands of dollars to recover from Identity Theft.
Instead of just tossing your mail and old statements in the trash take the time to look over them and look for any fraudulent activity such as debts you can't explain, etc. and when your through make sure you shred items that have your personal information on it.
Monitor your credit report regularly. Check for any inquiries from company's you haven't contacted, debts you can't explain, etc.
Protect yourself online. Install anti virus or spyware protection software or use a firewall to protect your computer. Never open emails or download files from someone you don't know. Never share personal identification information with unsolicited contacts.
