Live to Love Life, Live to Love Arts
My lens is an introduction to me as an artist. I am coming of age through this lens and is a very important moment of my life that I share with you. My website is getting constructed: it is artlameh dot com and my art is exciting people I am talking to and my zazzle shop with my id: hemalrmehta is in place. This is the ride of my life now.
About the artist
Hemal has been creating art since a very young age. Her mom recognized her passion and enrolled her in art classes at 10 yrs of age. She was encouraged to appear for the National Drawing and Painting examination by her teacher, Raja Ram Mohan. Hemal got a B+ at the All India level. She continued in her passion for 7 years.
Hemal went to Medical School and graduated as a General physician. Her interest to continue advanced studies brought her to the US. She graduated from Pediatric training from Philadelphia. Living close to the museum in Philly, her passion, now dormant for more than a decade started revisiting. It was only after she moved to California that she decided to go back to school to train in fine arts. She joined De Anza in spring 2003 to work with Eugene Rodriguez. She got her associate's degree in Fine arts in 2007. She never looked back. Today, she pursues her dual career: pediatrician on some days and artist on others.
Hemal's work as a pediatrician allows her to interact with life, living and difficult situations. This combined with being a Highly Sensitive Personality has strongly influenced her art. Her love for learning about the strengths and weaknesses of humans has been the subject of her work since her first day in school. Through her work, she has effortlessly used color and symbols to convey her messages. These some qualities act as affirmations as well if thought of as "I AM%u2026%u2026.example: Happiness". This is what makes her work unique.
Artists who have influenced her style: Van Gogh, Paul Gauguin, Da Vinci and Picasso. Their styles are sometimes reflected in her work.
My process of creation is spontaneous strokes, carefully observing the profound changes each stroke creates, with constant asymmetric balance of all dualities. Creating art is a meditative experience for her and her painting exudes this energy so that there is order even in chaos.
Art and helping others are her two pillars of life and with her art she hopes to empower others with knowledge of their own richness and their limitations. It is with knowledge can one change him/herself and his/her path.
