We Have All The Time In The World Song Lyrics

We have all, the time in the world
Time enough for life
To unfold
All the prescious things
Love has in store

We have all the love in the world
If that's all we have
You will find
We need nothing more

Every step of the way
Will find us
With the cares of the world
Far behind us

We have all the time in the world
Just for love
Nothing more
Nothing less
Only love

Every step of the way
Will find us
With the cares of the world
Far behind us
Yes

We have all the time in the world
Just for love
Nothing more
Nothing less
Only love

Only love

Theme for James Bond Film 'On Her Majesty's Secret Service'

Music composed by John Barry

"We Have All the Time in the World" is a James Bond theme and popular song sung by Louis Armstrong. Its music was composed by John Barry and the lyrics by Hal David; it is a secondary musical theme in 1969 James Bond film On Her Majesty's Secret Service; the title theme being the instrumental "On Her Majesty's Secret Service", also composed by Barry. The song title, "We Have All the Time in the World", is taken from James Bond's final words in both the novel and the film, spoken after his wife's death. The song was not registered in the music rating charts in the UK when first released, only becoming well known 25 years later, as part of a Guinness beer commercial after My Bloody Valentine chose to cover it for charity. It was then re-released and reached number 3 in the UK Singles Chart. In 2005, a BBC survey showed it is the third-most-popular love song played at weddings.

In addition to My Bloody Valentine, "We Have All the Time in the World" has been covered by Iggy Pop, Fun Lovin' Criminals, Vic Damone, Amalia Grè, The Fairly Handsome Band and Tindersticks. Iggy Pop's version of it plays during the end credits of the film "The Jacket".

Beautiful Ballard of Love

This love ballad served as the theme for the love scenes between James Bond (George Lazenby) and Teresa, also known as Tracy (Diana Rigg). James Bond finally fell in love and marries, however, Tracy is killed by Bond's nemesis, Blofeld. In the opening scene of "For Your Eye's Only," the audience is reminded of Bond's love, Tracy, as James (Roger Moore) is seen placing roses on the grave of his slain wife. The headstone reads "Teresa Bond, Wife of James Bond. We Have All the Time in the World." This scene draws parallels to the 1969 film, which was a very warm and memorable film.

"Louis Armstrong's station in the history of jazz is umimpeachable. If it weren't for him, there wouldn't be any of us."

Dizzy Gillespie, 1971

A Little About Louis Armstrong

"Ambassador Satch"

Louis Armstrong was born in a poor section of New Orleans known as "the Battlefield" on August 4, 1901. By the time of his death in 1971, the man known around the world as Satchmo was widely recognized as a founding father of jazz - a uniquely American art form. His influence, as an artist and cultural icon, is universal, unmatched, and very much alive today.

Louis Armstrong's achievements are remarkable. During his career, he:
  • developed a way of playing jazz, as an instrumentalist and a vocalist, which has had an impact on all musicians to follow;
  • recorded hit songs for five decades, and his music is still heard today on television and radio and in films;
  • wrote two autobiographies, more than ten magazine articles, hundreds of pages of memoirs, and thousands of letters;
  • appeared in over 30 films as a gifted actor with superb comic timing and an unabashed joy of life;
  • composed dozens of songs that have become jazz standards;
  • performed an average of 300 concerts each year, with his frequent tours to all parts of the world earning him the nickname "Ambassador Satch"; and
  • became one of the first great celebrities of the twentieth century.

Through the years, Louis entertained millions, from heads of state and royalty to the kids on his stoop in Corona. Despite his fame, he lived a simple life in a working-class neighbourhood. To this day, everyone loves Satchmo - just the mention of his name makes people smile.

    I love the original song from OHMSS! Was surprised to find the cover versions here, liked the dreamy approach from My Bloody Valentine a lot. Thanks!
