The biodiesel oil alternative to petroleum diesel
Biodiesel Oil - the basic benefits
"Biodiesel Oil is a better lubricant than petrol diesel so it actually extends the life of my engine"
Biodiesel Oil - the diesel fuel alternative today
One of the things that makes Biodiesel oil a good alternative to conventional fuel is that there is no need to buy a new car or even make modifications to your current diesel car to use Biodiesel. If your car runs on conventional diesel then it can more than likely run on Biodiesel. One common misconception about using biodiesel in traditional diesel cars is that it can break down rubber parts over time. Whilst a lot of older cars were produced with rubber parts most modern cars do not use rubber parts in their engine and therefore will derive maximum benefits from using pure Biodiesel.
Most of the Biodiesel sold today on the market is in the form of a blended version. What this means is that Biodiesel and regular diesel are mixed together at different levels. Biodiesel sold at the pumps today is mostly a blended version B20. B20 is 20 percent biodiesel with 80 percent petroleum diesel.
Shell have been informing it's customers that they are introducing biofuel into the products they sell to the British public because there are laws that say they must. Governments are becoming more intense in their search for 'cleaner' fuels, with legislation in the UK and EU demanding that biofuels make up 2.5% of transport fuel, rising to 5% by 2010. Therefore, it's more than likely that, the diesel you fill up with today is B20 so you may be using Biodiesel without knowing it.
Regular diesel now has a real alternative and biodiesel oil is fast becoming the diesel choice for all drivers.
Biodiesel Oil - Why not make your own?
Biodiesel oil has many benefits but making biodiesel at home is one of the main attractions for many. The process is relatively easy and saves considerable money, making it yourself can cost under $1 per gallon. Imagine being able to make fuel for your vehicle or even create energy to run your home which could translate into significant savings over a short period of time?Producing a small amount of Biodiesel oil at home entails minimal requirements with the ingredients include lye, alcohol and vegetable oil being readily available. If you want to make a relatively small quantity maybe a few gallons at a time then you should consider purchasing a biodiesel kit, most are easy to use and require little effort once the ingredients are added.
If you want to produce Biodiesel in larger quantities for example to run your car, you should look at purchasing a biodiesel processor. Processors today are both efficient and effective with the actual processor doing most of the work for you.
Most Biodiesel processors come packaged for ready use with full instructions outlining the procedure to undertake the production right away. Whether you decide upon a kit or processor you should have enough space to dedicate a specific area where your equipment can be safely managed.
If you have a diesel car or run equipment on diesel then you could save significant cost by learning how to make your own biodiesel at home.
Do you have a view on biodiesel oil ?
Biofuel - what's all the fuss about? Is good or bad for the environment? Is it really that green?
I think that biodiesel oil has the potential to be good and green but we need some answers to the issues surrounding the adoption of biofuels such as, "Is making biodiesel oil from traditional food crops bad and if so should we be looking for different sources to produce biodiesel? What should governments around the world be doing? What should the oil companies be contributing?
