Welcome to the World of Printmaking
I am a printmaker. You will find a lot of artists who are printmakers, and who are passionate about printmaking, and educating the wide world about printmaking arts. I am one of those artists. You will find on this lens information and links to various printmaking techniques, tools used in printmaking, supports (e.g. papers) for printmaking, artists who are primarily printmakers, books on printmaking techniques, and anything else I can hunt down about printmaking.
And by "printmaking", I am not discussing photography, digital or any other kind of mechanical reproductions (e.g. giclée, "limited edition" prints that are not produced by the artist or in collaboration with a printmaker). I am presenting to you traditional printmaking techniques (e.g. relief, serigraphy, intaglio, lithography, collagraph, etc.). One of my favourite definitions of the original art print comes from the Edinburgh Printmakers.
