Welcome to the World of Printmaking
I am a printmaker. You will find a lot of artists who are printmakers, and who are passionate about printmaking, and educating the wide world about printmaking arts. I am one of those artists. You will find on this lens information and links to various printmaking techniques, tools used in printmaking, supports (e.g. papers) for printmaking, artists who are primarily printmakers, books on printmaking techniques, and anything else I can hunt down about printmaking.
And by "printmaking", I am not discussing photography, digital or any other kind of mechanical reproductions (e.g. giclée, "limited edition" prints that are not produced by the artist or in collaboration with a printmaker). I am presenting to you traditional printmaking techniques (e.g. relief, serigraphy, intaglio, lithography, collagraph, etc.). One of my favourite definitions of the original art print comes from the Edinburgh Printmakers.

- This is an absolutely wonderful resource fo the printmaker. I have taught printmaking for about 20 years and am always looking for new references to send my students. Thanks so much for this forum.

- Great lens! I took a week long in monoprinting one summer. The most interesting thing we did was make a print from a copy. Can't remember exactly how we treated the copy now but the toner acted as a resist. Inkjet image transfers quality as a type of print, don't they? 5*
