Enough of me talking about myself ...

- I've been reading your lens, and another of your lenses, for the last 30 minutes and I'm still not sure exactly what you are trying to say about anything in particular. I actually just wanted some advice on how to use Squidoo to help me get a book written. Would you have some less insane sounding advice to give sir? Please.

- I can tell you what the world would call sane. Get a masters degree in literature and attend a lot of writer's workshops.
The most useful idea: if you don't feel like you have to write it, find another less ridiculous hobby to waste time on, the chances of success are very low.
You can look at the first book I wrote on Squidoo, I learned a lot from the effort. I basically wrote until I finished a text module. I called that a chapter. I eventually published a much edited version of it.

I assume you've viewed my complicityuniverse lens and the write-my-book lens. There are good ideas there, read them again and dig them out.
Here is a link to a pair of Seth posts for would be authors. I may be too close to Kurt Vonnegut for you; compared to me Seth is very sane: http://www.thedominoproject.com/2012/01/advice-for-authors-part-one-and-part-two.html

- Interesting reading, thanks. Our family lore claims that our ancestors were also kicked out of Scotland, albeit for being horse thieves! I suppose not everyone was destined for a colorful history! :-)

- I thought you weren't around any longer Allan. I'm almost positive I have been here before, but obviously not. I'm left wondering if your families brief sojourn in Ireland left you with the gift of the gab. More importantly, a superlative mind, we could do with some of that here at the moment. I'm not an overtly religious man Allan, but God bless. Always a joy reading your lenses.
