Ways for Alleviating Anxiety

Mental health is one of the top topics which many of us are concerned about. So, it is to no surprise that many of us are seeking ways for alleviating anxiety.

Now, fears, phobias and anxieties can manifest in ourselves in many different ways. Some symptoms are physical and some just purely mental. And to top it off, many of the symptoms that you may experience while having extreme anxieties can be similar to the symptoms of more serious medical conditions. So it is best to seek medical advise from your family doctor to rule those out.

Those who suffer from anxiety attacks can testify to many different symptoms... such as accelerated heart rates or excessive sweating to trembling of the fingers. There are lots more but these are just some of them.

And the tricky thing about anxiety attacks is that you can be aware of why it is happening... and you could be unaware of why it is happening. For instance, if you have a fear of flying or fear of speaking in public... you may have anxiety attacks before the events take place because you are worrying so much about it. Those are situations in which you are aware of what happened and what caused your symptoms to manefest themselves.

But what happens if out of the blue, you feel your world falling apart? And you have absolutely NO IDEA what caused it? It is pretty common for many folks who suffer from anxiety and panic attacks.

My point is you are NOT alone here... there are 1000s and 1000s of sufferers all over the world. In fact, there are millions of people out there that have learned to deal with their anxieties and panics. And you know what? You can too...

But the very first thing you should do irregardless, is seek the attention of your doctor to make absolutely sure that you are NOT suffereing from any serious medical conditions. From that point on, you can focus on your mental health and learning how to eliminate your anxieties, fears and phobias.

The trick of course is that YOU have to do it... there are therapists and presciption medications... but those methods really only help alleviate your anxities... not end them.

You have to want to stop them. Again, you have to step up and fix what is going on inside your head because you could have the very best care from your therapist, and still get the anxieties.

Another thing I wanted to mention is that anxieties, fears and phobias are NOT mental diseases or mental illnesses. They are just thoughts that you picked up on the way to adult hood. So don't feel embarrassed or reluctant to seek help... because that my friend, is the reason why many folks who suffer from anxieties and panic attacks have the condition so long.

It is just insane... that you can relieve anxiety any time you wanted but never did anything about it because... no one told you. Well, consider this informative article as your wake up call. [smile]

Tip to Relieve Anxiety

Tips to Relieve AnxietyDid you know there are several different types of anxiety? For instance, one type of anxiety is the kind you get when there is an important meeting or when your boss calls you in the office and you don't really know why? All these thoughts go through your mind... and most of them turn out to not be true... but that won't stop you from worrying and having anxieties.

By the way, having some anxieties are just normal. Just part of being a human being.

But anxiety, in and of itself is found deep inside each one of us. It is ingrained into our psyche. Our ancestors used the "fight or flight" feelings to survive against dangerous carnivore animals. And today, we still have that "fight or flight" anxiety within us, even though we are not in any danger from lions or tigers.

And when we have those intense anxious feelings, our adrenaline can speed up our reaction. And many times, it seems that we are capable of doing super-human feats. So now you know what anxiety is, let's talk a little about how to relieve anxiety so it doesn't take over our lives.

The first thing you need to understand is that there isn't a way to avoid stress. It happens and it is always there. But you can control the response that you would have against the stress. In short, you don't need to react to stress if you act first... does this make sense?

Let's put it this way, if you find yourself in a stressful situation, take a break if you can. Just walk away from whoever the stressor is... it can be a person, event or even the thoughts running through your mind. Just give yourself the permission to take "a walk" or even a mental break.

Just do it if you can...

More Anxiety Cures to Try

Ways of Anxiety CuresA great tip for anxiety cures is to try to go through your daily routines and make them as simple as possible. This does sound a little out of the ball park but think about it... if you can reduce the amount of events, people and thoughts that are complicated and does nothing to enhance your life - wouldn't your life be so much easier to manage?

Sure it would. So try to simplify and eliminate the chaos that is encircling your life and making everything so complicated. Just say, "Stop!" Don't run around aimlessly and try to fix everything. Sometimes it is OK to just let things be. Don't feel like you are responsible for everyone's problems... sometimes if you let them... people can amaze you what they can do.

I like making daily lists of things I need to do. And I also am brutal when deciding what tasks are not so important and striking them off the the list. And at the end of the day, review your list and take notice of what you accomplish and give yourself a hearty pat on the back for a job well done.

The key thing about the daily "things to do" list is that you can turn an unmanageable day into an organized and efficient day of accomplishments.

Now, I gave you a few things that you can do to combat and alleviate anxiety. But don't feel this is an inclusive list. There are lots of other anxiety cures that you can try. You may want to consider checking out some self help books at your favorite bookstore or even try one of the online bookstores for practical advice how to manage and control your anxieties. I would suggest that you visit and consult with your family doctor first for medical advice and from there you can proceed the path that will help you best.

I wish you the very best in alleviating anxiety and panic attacks.
