Caribbean Vacations

More all inclusive vacation packages are found in the Caribbean than anywhere else in the world. In fact the number of all inclusive Caribbean vacations is actually in excess of those based on a bed and breakfast basis. A number of people believe this popularity has been created as a method of bringing in more tourists to what is already undoubtedly a very busy group of islands; but the evidence for this is minimal.

Let's Get Started!

For people generally looking for an all inclusive vacation then the first place that comes to mind is the Caribbean. The popularity of all inclusive Caribbean vacations has meant they actually out number the accommodation only vacations sold each year. A number of people believe this popularity has been created as a method of bringing in more tourists to what is already undoubtedly a very busy group of islands; however, there is very little evidence that this is the case.

In all likelihood it is just the fact that all inclusive Caribbean vacations are becoming more popular generally as they are more cost effective; which makes them particularly attractive for families on a budget. There are even specialist packages, so it doesn't matter what your interest or requirements are you can guarantee they will be met. For people that already have family on the islands, their requirements are minimal; these people don't normally need to arrange for a place to stay as their relatives would be offended if they were to book into a hotel.

For the average tourist and his family, an all inclusive Caribbean vacation is the more likely scenario with costs manageable right from the start. Because the tour operators book large numbers of vacations, this is quite likely less expensive than if you tried to book your flight, accommodation and food independently. However, those travelers that are more independent would not arrange a vacation like this no matter how tempting the financial offer. It is surprising, even now, just how many people that book an all inclusive vacation aren't aware of what they are actually going to get for their money.

No matter what type of vacation you are arranging, one thing remains constant and that is the room will be included in the package. All meals and any additional food are included in this type of package but that is not always the case; in fact many types of board only include a continental breakfast as part of the arrangement. Many people can get confused between a full board package and an all inclusive package vacation.

A full board package will include breakfast lunch and supper, but not drinks, whilst an all inclusive Caribbean vacation package will include meals and drinks. Many hotels will also supply their guests with discount vouchers for events, entertainment and meals for example; normally there will be an additional (usually lower) cost attached nevertheless. Most all inclusive Caribbean vacations will however, normally include all these as part of the package; usually entertainment and often excursions are part of the price, which does make it easier to enjoy a wonderful location without the need to carry any money around.

Caribbean Island Cruises

Here We Go!

Not just for the wealthy, Caribbean cruises are for anyone that wants to enjoy tropical beaches and beautiful islands; the affordability of these cruise liners makes it possible for even younger people to experience them. What more could you want, with a complete program of daily activities on board the cruise liner, entertainment every evening and the wonderful beaches and islands of the Caribbean. There is a great deal of flexibility involved on the part of the liner companies and they can arrange short taster trips or a full fourteen days or more vacations.

Vacations like this are about enjoyment and it what these companies do best irrespective of weather or environment, it is your choice; enjoy the on board entertainment or that at each destination. Never worry that there will not be enough to keep you occupied as cruise liners are past masters at ensuring their travelers have everything they need. Planning is the key to vacationing and with the number of packages now available it will be well worth your time to have a chat with your tour operator's agent.

Almost every Caribbean island will receive cruise liner guests but they can't call on every one each trip as it would take to long so you need to look for a package that will call at the islands you want. Many cruise vacations cater more for adults and the activities include discos, late night entertainment, casinos and shows with daytime events to challenge those with an excess of energy. Don't forget that more and more information is put online these days and whilst the travel agent will be helpful, there is every chance you can take a virtual tour of the Caribbean cruise ships if you visit the website directly.

One important thing to remember is the type of clothes you pack for your trip as you will have the opportunity to wear all you normal holiday clothes plus those for dressing up in the evening. Women may want to take two or three evening dresses and men will need a tuxedo, they will probably get to wear it for a number of evenings. Even if you intend to bring along your children on a family cruise vacation, there are plenty of programs to occupy them and they will not have a dull moment.

There will be probably more for your children to do than at a standard resort, in fact you probably won't see them much during the day. For those of you that would prefer a child free vacation, that too is available so you can cruise around the Caribbean islands without having to worry about children. Nothing on board a cruise liner is to much trouble so if you are celebrating a special event or occasion, be assured that packages to entertain this are available too. A Caribbean cruise will be your vacation of a lifetime as it has the scenery, locations, beaches and the first class service you can expect on board a cruise liner whether you are alone or with others.

Choosing Airfare Deals

Make Sure!

Airfare deals to the Caribbean and getting the best price at the best time to travel seem to be a common topic among those who travel often. It's possible to fly to many places around the World, not just the Caribbean, for considerably less than the full standard fare, although ticket prices seem to fluctuate significantly in various locations; with some research and the aid of a good travel agent.

A key factor in getting a good deal is the ability to be flexible. Flexibility and the willingness to compromise on the day and time of year you travel, will almost always guarantee you a cheap seat. Airlines want to save money by slotting people into empty seats, and you can capitalize off this if you are able to modify your dates to suit theirs. Many airlines charge a hefty cancellation of amendment penalty, if once you have booked a flight, decide to switch the date. A point about being flexible when looking for flights is that if you want to cancel or change your flight without receiving an additional charge, it might be better to pay the regular ticket price.

The frequent flyer usually makes the biggest gains in the competitive world of airlines and airfare deals. Frequent Flyer programs award incentives in relation to customer loyalty. Well hey, let's go to the Caribbean once a month! Regular airline passengers can be awarded benefits each and every time they utilize certain carriers and then redeem for free tickets or for other compensations. Intense competition has led to many airlines' adoption of this devise or to their linking with other airlines; many hotels are doing the same.

The most used source for deals in airfare is online. Watch out for online sites specializing in the sales of airline tickets at a discount, the business could be totally legitimate, but it is wiser to book flights with more knowledgeable discount agents. Mostly, the problem is that people fail in verifying a site's legitimacy until it is too late. Never expect email contact as the only avenue for assessing an agent's knowledge of the airline industry, visit the office and if that's not possible, make a call and talk directly with the agent. Query with as many questions as you can, to learn of any likely snags related to their ticket deals, such as stopovers in unattractive parts of the world. Learn the airline's exact identity, which is very important information.

Caribbean airfare deals and options are opening up and increasing daily, with new destination opportunities and more flexible travel tariffs. You will eventually get to your destination with few problems if you are careful, flexible and have thoroughly researched the options presented by the airlines.

The Demand for Caribbean Cruises is Increasing!

L00K Here! Are You Ready To Go Yet? "I AM"

Often considered the vacation of choice for a certain age group, the demand for Caribbean cruises is increasing; why not spoil yourself and be treated like royalty while you spend time visiting these idyllic tropical islands. What more could you want, with a complete program of daily activities on board the cruise liner, entertainment every evening and the wonderful beaches and islands of the Caribbean. Whilst short breaks are available, perhaps over a weekend period, the vast majority of passengers sail for seven days and sometimes in excess of fourteen but depends on how much you are willing to spend.

Whilst this type of vacation has become widespread each vacationer has diverse needs so there are many different packages available as it is a time for unwinding, enjoyment and revitalization. Never worry that there will not be enough to keep you occupied as cruise liners are past masters at ensuring their travelers have everything they need.

Planning is the key to vacationing and with the number of packages now available it will be well worth your time to have a chat with your tour operator's agent. Caribbean cruises travel to most parts of the world, but with different price packages for each itinerary together with the duration and the number of places visited.

If your ideal cruise vacation includes partying by the beach or the deck pool, even at a disco well then choose a cruise with plenty of activities. Go to your nearest travel agent for the best Caribbean cruise deal and even try for discounts but you can go to the official website and some may be able to highlight the best packages.

Of course you will need to take all the usual changes of clothing you have for a vacation but ships have many more evening functions which require a little more thought. Women may want to take two or three evening dresses and men will need a tuxedo, they will probably get to wear it for a number of evenings.

Even if you intend to bring along your children on a family cruise vacation, there are plenty of programs to occupy them and they will not have a dull moment. You can even take time off for a little quality adult time as there is fully trained staff to look after them.

Some Caribbean cruises are specifically for adults only, which ideal for couples, honeymooners and people that would like to have a child free vacation. Nothing on board a cruise liner is to much trouble so if you are celebrating a special event or occasion, be assured that packages to entertain this are available too.

A Caribbean cruise vacation is the ideal venue for singles, couples and for families as everyone is looked after with a multitude of activities available; no-one ever feels left out.

"Tanning" - Watch Your Skin ;-)

Have Fun, But Protect Your Skin! - Steer clear of all discount tanning lotions.

Sun worshipers that cannot afford to be on a permanent Caribbean Vacation can now use tanning booths whenever they wish to maintain that golden brown look. The reason for this is that evidence has proved how damaging to your skin it is to sunbathe regularly and the more at risk you are from skin cancer, so people are looking for new ways to achieve the same effect safely. The latest method proving very popular (owing to its speed) is spray tanning as it only requires a single application. Although bronzing agents have been around for many years, they tend to leave streak marks unless professionally applied. These techniques are also a sure and reliable way to look your best, before you reach your Caribbean destination!

There are manufacturers now that offer spray tans that you can apply yourself. Whichever method you decide upon there are some simple but basic steps needed to ensure the best effect. To ensure a good clean body surface to work with, you will need to remove any dead skin by exfoliation. Fake tan applications that have been done without this vital step are easy to spot as the recipient has light patches in the tan where the dead skin has fallen of.

Afterwards apply a good moisturizer to keep your skin moist and ready to tan. Secondly, you always want to wear gloves if you are applying the tanning agent yourself to avoid getting the dreaded orange palms which are a dead give away that your tan is fake. Lighter coats should always be applied to the joints and feet as they will appear darker, which is a dead giveaway that fake tan has been applied. After a spray tanning application you will want to use a towel to remove any excess that may drip and run.

Always stay as still as possible after artificial tanning to allow time for the application to settle down and create an even coating. These agents are notoriously good at marking clothing once they have been applied so you are advised to be careful how soon you get ready afterwards and what you intend to wear. If possible always choose clothing that is darker and preferably something that is old and won't matter if a stain is left on it. Armed with this information it should be easier to have a fake tan that is safe and available all year round without anyone knowing what it is you are doing. Ultimately this will help prepare you for your Caribbean fun spot in the sun.

People love sporting a healthy tan! By the way, how did these two terms ever get put together? Healthy and tan. That's kind of like saying nutritious Happy Meal. It's an enigma for sure. However, people tend to think that a tan appears healthier than their real skin tone. Therefore products such as discount tanning lotions will continually be in demand. These days people even want to get their tan on year round. Heaven forbid they look pale during the winter months. Luckily for all you sun bunnies out there, this is a possibility. Let the local tanning salons be your savior.

You may have thought it was gone with the 1980s, but let me reassure you, discount tanning lotions are in full effect. Then again, so are the 80s it seems. Just take a gander at some of the fashion trends kids are adopting now. It's like "Duran Duran" all over again. Anyway, last summer I noticed my teenage daughter was lathering up with some sort of questionable tanning oil. I promptly informed her why those were a major no-no. The oil actually draws the UV rays into your skin. This way you become like a magnet for the sun's powerful rays. If you're looking to get roasted, this is definitely the way to do it. She responded with "That's awesome!" Apparently it's exactly what she wanted. And even though I advised strongly against it, like an 18 year old, she went ahead and did it anyway. Go figure! Needless to say she received a pretty heavy tan along with plenty of peeling that followed. no one ever cares for that part of the tanning process. So the moral of the story is; steer clear of all discount tanning lotions. They're sold cheap for a reason.

Let's examine the flip side. Imagine if there was an alternative to spending money on discount tanning lotions and laying out in the sun or a tanning bed on a regular basis. Hey wait; there totally is a second option. It's commonly known as self-tanner. This is the safe way to get golden brown in this day and age. I highly suggest you look into it. Why damage your skin and risk getting cancer if you don't have to?

Travel Insurance, DON'T Leave Home Without It!

Is it Wise to Purchase?

I came across this article over a year ago, and it is still one of the beast (in my mind) explanations for this never ending question.

by: Steve Cogger
The best way to determine if, for you, it is wise to purchase travel insurance, is to consider the various emergency situations that could arise during your trip, determine the best guess for the cost of each, and see whether you can afford to pay for the worst case scenarios out of your own pocket.

If the answer is no, then it is indeed wise to purchase travel insurance.

Even if the answer is yes, however, money is not the only issue in determining the wisdom of travel insurance.

Let's take a look at what can happen in your travels - the situations that travel insurance could have covered. You and your family take a delayed flight from home to another location where you are to change planes. Because of your delay, however, you have missed your connection. Your tickets are non-refundable, non-exchangeable. You are now faced with the purchase of new tickets, with a hefty last-minute price tag, as well as the feeding and housing for your whole party as the next flight is tomorrow morning. If you had been wise and purchased travel insurance you would have been reimbursed for these costs.

Your spouse is diabetic. Her purse is stolen while you are traveling. You have no travel insurance and you're in a foreign country. How do you retrieve the money lost from her wallet, replace her much-needed reading glasses and, most importantly, get her the insulin she so desperately needs? If you had been wise and purchased travel insurance you would have been reimbursed for these costs. You would have also had someone to call or see for help purchasing insulin.

You have had a wonderful Caribbean Vacation and you're ready to travel home. You suddenly get the word that the airline on which you are returning has gone bankrupt and all planes are grounded. How do you get home? To whom do you turn for help and advice? You are in a country where few people speak your language. Who can help you translate? If you had been wise and purchased travel insurance you could have not only been reimbursed for the loss of the price of your airline tickets but you could have been provided with a translator and someone to help you find an alternate flight or cruise home.

These are but a few of the common occurrences when traveling. Perhaps travel insurance is indeed a wise decision.

Through personal experience and investigation, I've found that these people are at the top of their class!

At worldnomads.com you get so much more than travel insurance. With free SMS travel safety alerts, iPod language guides, your own online travel journal and destination guides, World Nomads will keep you travelling safely.

"Travel Safe" Guide

Please Travel Safely!

To make travel more enjoyable and less stressful (owing to how often things go wrong) it is often a good idea to re-iterate a few simple rules that can help prevent disaster. Usually these problems could be prevented but may give a false impression of the location you have visited. Situations like this can even escalate and it is not uncommon where people are reluctant to leave their room or even have to spend time in a Police station trying to explain the problem. Any advice you receive from authorities will always tell you to use your common sense if you want to travel safely especially when you are in a situation or circumstances that are different which is particularly true on holiday.

Nature gave us all a very effective means for survival in unknown circumstances; it's called instinct and you must learn to trust it. A big mistake made by many tourists is they take everything of value with them which makes it very easy for thieves and pickpockets to steal their whole identity in one go. Consider just what you require for your trip out and take that, placing everything else that is of importance in your room or hotel safe. One tip that has saved many travelers hassle is placing money in various locations so it makes it harder for thieves and pickpockets to get it all at once.

The thing is that it is not uncommon for married people to share the same credit card account, but a piece of traveling safely advice says that two separate credit card accounts should be used; if something should happen to one of them, there is another one to fall back on. Some of the easiest possessions to steal are bags and cameras owing to the way people carry them without even recognizing that they are an easy target for thieves; ensure the straps are over the head and across the chest if you want to hold on to them. Always avoid letting something hang from your shoulder next to the road as it is easy to grab something from the back of a motorbike as it passes you. Everyone has heard the stories of different confidence tricks that have happened to vacationers because they are relaxed and let their guard down but the truth is these people do this sort of thing for a living.

Complacency is a dangerous trait and we have all been guilty of it when we are on vacation, remember this is what they do every day to make money and feed their families. One way to stop some of the pick pocketing is to place a padlock on your backpack as any delay means they will usually try someone else. To keep your keys safe why not purchase one of those tiny climbers shackles and attach it to a belt or bag because it is a fiddly job trying to remove them. Probably the most common theft is that of a guy's wallet from his back pocket so try placing it somewhere else on your body that will be hard to find and steal from. The only reason these types of events happen on vacation is most people are not traveling safely so by maintaining your guard, many awkward situations can be avoidable.
