What is All-Star Vinyl?
In early 2006, The Upper Deck Company introduced All-Star Vinyl, an edgy line of designer figures. Made of soft roto-cast PVC and referred to as "vinyl" by collectors, this type of figure is part of a popular trend of vinyl collectibles that originated in Hong Kong and Japan.
A special edition figure of LeBron James (see first figure at the bottom) got things started and now the All-Star Vinyl family has grown to include other popular sports heroes like Brett Favre, Sidney Crosby and Reggie Bush, Carmelo Anthony, Shaquille O'Neal and LaDainian Tomlinson.
