A Fairy Garden House
Made with cuttings, sticks, dirt, glue and love...
A Fairy Theme - Homeschooling
info and links...
I've gathered a bunch of links (posted below) for you to put together a little fairy study unit...if you like. Having four sons, well, this theme would not go over very well here, but anyone having little girls could have a wonderful time exploring the Land of Fae.You can do your own searches using Google or Ask.com to find websites to provide images, poetry and information. Please do be advised that sometimes you will find little nekkid fae and if you don't want this viewed by your children or if it offends you, you may want to search using a filter or when your little ones are not around. *smile*
Building a fairy house garden (like the one my boys built and is mentioned in the module above) could be part of your theme. Use live plants such as ivy to intertwine with your stick frame instead of the cuttings that we used, to keep your fairy house looking pretty enough that a little fae would want to settle there.
The Flowers
~ Robert Louis Stevenson ~
All the names I know from nurse:
Gardener's garters, shepherd's purse:
Bachelor's buttons, lady's smock,
And the lady hollyhock.
Fairy places, fairy things,
Fairy woods where the wild bee wings,
Tiny trees for tiny dames-
These must all be fairy names!
Tiny woods below whose boughs
Shady fairies weave a house;
Tiny treetops, rose or thyme,
Where the braver fairies climb!
Fair are grown-up people's trees,
But the fairest woods are these;
Where, if I were not so tall,
I should live for good and all.
