We've been here before, in fact, exactly 100 years ago, as with the stamp pictured here, postmarked in Germany.  Not such a media circus back then--no apocalyptic thrillers, horror movie remakes, or even political polemics of note were released that day in 1906.  Since that year, the date of June 6th has become quite significant for something else: the successful invasion of Europe to liberate that continent from Nazi occupation, a process which began on D-Day, June 6, 1944.

Haunted Sonoma 4-Minute Film
It was a good day for a vicarious ghost tour of Sonoma, as in this short film clip featured today on Turnhere website. Lots of interesting history as well as the paranormal angle.

Will he have kept his given name through adulthood and still have it once he turns 60 on 06-06-66? The article mentions the birth weight of 6 lbs. 6 ozs. and gives the mother's age of 36, but missed the fact that 36 is six times six.

Notable Children's Author Born
On June 6, 1906 the pioneering children's author Irma Simonton Black was born. During the mid-century years between World War Two and the Civil Rights Movement, she wrote the Bank Street Readers, a set of urban-focused children's primers which we can now look back on as a forerunner of the multicultural and real-life emphasis that is so familiar to us today in the likes of PBS's Sesame Street.
