Aloe is a specie of a flowering succulent plant belonging to the Lilly family.The Aloe vera Plant is native to Africa very common in the Southern South Africa's Cape Province although it is now grown in other mountainous Tropical Africa.The Aloe species can be planted in pots and in the gardens. One of the specie of the Aloe is the Aloe vera which has been used in Africa as herbal medicine. Aloe Barbadensis Miller is the most powerful of the medicinal varieties of the species of Aloe vera. The Uses of Aloe Vera

Aloe Vera has been used for both internal and external healing. The following are some of its known uses:
1) It has been used to heal many skin injuries like burns and ulceration as it accelerates wound healing.

3) It stimulates the growth of new healthy tissues.
4) It has antiseptic properties which kills bacteria, virus including herpes, chickenpox, flu and fungus.

7) It enhances normal cell growth thus hastening healing.
8) It is antipyretic as it stops itching.

Aloe latex is a powerful laxative, but because it can cause painful cramping, it is not used frequently for this purpose. Other milder herbal laxatives are usually recommended first.

Aloe Vera has also been suggested in connection with diabetes, ulcers, and other conditions. However, presently no conclusive clinical studies have supported this assertion.
