Colorful Puzzle Mats for Babies and Toddlers!

If you consider buying a carpet for your kids room, I would warmly recommend to consider the alphabet foam playmats in the form of puzzles!

I've bought 2 sets of these colorful puzzle mats for our girl when she was 10 months old. She is over 3 years old now, but she still finds new ways to use them - a simple puzzle foam pieces, in my girl's hands, gets transformed into numerous new games!

Parents Also Love Foam Playmats!

Foam Playmats have some great features:

  • These mats are washable!
  • No need to have headache how to remove spilled juice from them - simply rinse them with water!
  • Colorful puzzles
  • All basic colors are included! This gives extra color to every kid's playroom!
  • They are durable!
  • They are practically unbreakable. Kids can toss them around all they want. And since they are really light-weighted, there is small risk they will break something!
  • No safety risk!
  • Both materials used for foam production and mats by itself are safe for babies, toddlers and preschoolers.
  • No slipping!
  • These mats are great for hardwood floors. Really small chance for kid to slip while walking or crawling on this mats.
  • Cushioned surface!
  • They are soft but not too much - just enough for kids not to get hurt if they fall on it.

Only The Best For Our Kids!

This is one of the best choices on market right now:

Puzzle Playmats Don't Get Boring With Time!

Kids and parents can always come up with new games for these colorful puzzles!

When we bought these, our girl was only 10 months old. She was too little to play with these puzzles. So, we used them as safe space for her to sit, crawl and play. We used to put cushions around her and give her few toys so she could play with them. Since she was already on the floor, there was no risk of falling from bed or some other high place.
When your baby gets a bit older, you might consider buying something like the Little Playzone with Sounds and Lights. You can put the foam puzzles underneath and have a safe place once your baby starts crawling. It will also act as a support as they try to stand on their feet.

There are lots of things to see and do: the activity board has colorful spinning balls, a play phone and light-up musical keyboard. A swinging hinged door with safety lock gives parents easy access to children. Quick and easy assembly and disassembly for compact storage. Great for indoor/outdoor use. Instruction sheet included.

Playing with colorful foam puzzles

When my girl spotted puzzles for real for the 1st time, she found fun game in pushing letters out of puzzles. She could do this for long period of time... until there were no more letters in their places!

After that, we started making cubes out of them and putting those cubes into towers. She didn't really know how to put cube together, mommy did that for start, but she had fun putting one on top of another and building a high towers. And adored to make tower fall apart! Since these puzzles are really light, there was no danger that she'll hurt herself if they fall on her head.

These days we are learning to hop and recognize different colors. And we use this playmat for that purpose! I have put puzzles together making sure that same color pieces are not next one to another. I tell her the color and she hops from one piece to another. She finds this really entertaining! :)

We have something similar. I invented a game similar to twister where the kids have to spell out four letter words by putting their hands and feet on the correct letters.

We got ours from K-mart (see comment below). I contacted K-mart and they got back to me and said they have done testing and the ones they sell (in Australia at least) do not contain formamide. Thanks for your comments!

Ones made in China are banned in France and Belgium and frozen in Australia while safety studies are going on.

Has anyone heard about these mats containing dangerous chemicals (carcinogenic with prolonged exposure)? It was on the news here in Australia the other day (apparently they were being banned in Belgium and France?) but now I can't find anything online about it. We have two of the mats, and our son LOVES it. But now we are worried!

We had one of these when my oldest son was a baby. It was perfect since we have tile floors . . . we did the same as you and put cushions around him and sat him on the foam. He loved it and stayed safe! Well, until he started crawling.

We don't have one of these. Might be the only toy on the planet Nana hasn't bought us! :) The boys used to have one at church, but the ladies there said that they would all just pull out the letters and never put them back. Maybe they were too young. Cool lens!

I have a set. I think I got it at a hardware store. I'm not sure of the brand. My kids loved them too. They liked to line them up in abc order and run back and forth on the line. We have a long family room downstairs. They are boxed up now since my kids are older. They are great fun for young ones.

I agree.. we had a smaller one when my kid was younger. It starts off safe and leads to many exciting games for them to discover!
