Who Is Alslad?
Many people who have an internet presence use strange "user names" when they join up with forums and community sites. So, if I always use my real name when commenting or in my bio, why on earth do I call myself Alslad? For anyone with even a passing interest, here is why...
Al: Abbreviation for Alastair (my father's name)
Lad: (noun) meaning boy, young man or "child belonging to"
Al's Lad: (The son of Alastair or "child belonging to Al") The name I am often referred to by anyone who knows my dad - despite the fact that I am now fast approaching my 40's and good old papa is in his 70's
So I saw it as only fitting that the entire world should know me by the same name as my friends, neighbors and work colleagues! There you go, probably not as interesting as you had hoped, but at least you know
