Alternative Fuels
Alternative fuels are derived from resources other than petroleum. The alternative fuels identified in federal mandate legislation are: ethanol, methanol, electricity, compressed natural gas, liquefied natural gas, liquefied petroleum gas, bio-diesel, hydrogen, or hybrid vehicles using a number of fuels. Water as gas is even an option as discussed below.
The use of alternative fuels greatly reduces harmful exhaust emissions such as carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, sulfur dioxide and particulate matter. The purpose of this article is to introduce you to some of the choices of fuels to power your car or truck, and to compare these alternative fuels with petroleum fuels and with each other.
The use of alternative fuels reduces our dependence on imported petroleum, contributes to a cleaner environment, and furthers the rural farm economy by creating markets for agricultural crops.
Ethanol/Methanol
Ethanol is produced domestically from corn and other crops and produces less greenhouse gas emissions than conventional fuels. Ethanol was one of the first vehicle fuels, and is now the most widely used alternative to gasoline. Ethanol is an alcohol fuel that's derived mainly from grain. Methanol is an alcohol fuel that's derived primarily from coal. If you wonder why big oil and Middle Eastern oil interest are conducting a smear campaign on ethanol I believe $71 billion dollars is the logical answer.
Biodiesel
Biodiesel is derived from vegetable oils and animal fats. Biodiesel was among the first automotive vehicle fuels and is now the fastest growing alternative transportation fuel. Biodiesel is used in conventional diesel engines, primarily in low-level blends of 2, 5, and 20 percent biodiesel with diesel fuel, known as B2, B5, and B20, respectively. Facilities making biodiesel are already here and ethanol facilities are not far behind.
Electric
Electric vehicles(EVs), especially EVs powered by fuel cells, are a compelling alternative to gasoline-powered cars. According to many experts, we may soon find ourselves using fuel cells to generate electrical power for our cars and all sorts of devices in our homes. All EVs operate with electricity that is stored in a battery that must be recharged. They can either be plugged into an electricity source at home or wherever there is a suitable outlet. While not considered an alternative fuel vehicle (AFV) by the government's definition, hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs) are nonetheless an alternative to conventional gasoline-powered models.
Natural Gas
Natural gas is a fossil fuel that generates less air pollutants and greenhouse gases. Natural gas is used in two forms to fuel vehicles: compressed (CNG) or liquefied (LNG). Natural Gas is a by-product of oil drilling and coal mining, natural gas can also be harvested from natural gas fields.
Water
Yes water! Many people are now building small hydrogen generators to "power their car on water" instead of pure gas. This is done cheaply and is fast to install. It does not interfere with your car's engine and is completely safe. See below on how to build a hydrogen generator to run your car on water.
Do you want build one of these generators yourself for under $150? Are you tired of high gas prices? Want to double your mileage overnight? If so, then check out my "hydrogen generator" website and never worry about the rising pump prices again! Click Here!

How to build a Hydrogen Generator and Run Your Car On Water
Last year, my son and I constructed a hydrogen generator for approximately $128 all with items and material we found at our local hardware store. The hydrogen generator allowed up to cut our gas bills in half. As a result of this, our car now runs on water for gas.The hydrogen generator actually is a supplement for the regular gasoline and ends up increasing the efficiency of the rate at which the gas burns to power the car.
The basic concept to construct a hydrogen generator to run your car on water,is simple.
Using an in-depth guide to walk you through all the step required to contruct it safely and accurately, you will install a small container in the engine compartment of the vehicle and fill it with nothing but water and a little baking soda! When its hit with electricity from the batter, the water molecules break up into what is called Brown's gas.
This gas uses the vacuum of the engine to suck it into the air manifold and into the engine where it will combine with regular car gasoline and combust for efficiently.
This method of constructing a hydrogen generator to run your car on water will not require any alterations to your car's engine or computer chips, and it will work on both the carburetor and fuel injection systems.
You will need to add a fuel line heater and a device that makes the engine's oxygen sensor think you are still getting bad gas mileage. By doing this you will increase your gas mileage by between 40-%100%.
With the fuel prices skyrocketing, you definitely need to get your hands on the design plans for this hydrogen generator! Take the money you save with your gas savings and put it elsewhere where you really need it! This hydrogen generator plan is very inexpensive and all the parts you need are easily available.
Vehicles with these generators installed (including mine), get better gas mileage and the cars are actually running smoother and quieter than before. This extends your engine life.
Needless to say, we are already thinking about converting our van(second car) in the next few months.
The technology is not new. Its been available for years and proven safe. You can build the hydrogen generator over a weekend and have your car run on water as well! This is not rocket science.
Do you want build one of these generators yourself for under $150? Are you tired of high gas prices? Want to double your mileage overnight? If so, then check out my "hydrogen generator" website and never worry about the rising pump prices again! Click Here!

Gas Price Rise - It's Time to Look for Alternatives
The continuous rise in gas prices and low supplies, the time has now arrived to better look for alternativesThat not all report says that a barrel price may reach to $200 in 2010 which means get ready to pay $8 for a gallon, you still can not believe it lets search the history in 2004 the price per barrel was only $38 a barrel and in 2008 to $105 so the annual increase in gas price is alarming high.
Time to go for alternatives
Alternative fuel has already hit the market I would like to tell you 3 main alternative fuels which are easily adoptable and greener thus does not contribute to green house gases
Major alternative fuels are
1. Biofuel
2. Electricity
3. Water based fuel
Biofuel- car based on biofuel are alternative for at least next 10 years but not more than as it require raw food like corn to be converted into fuel and with increase in human population the demand can never be fully fulfilled , this method has already hit the market but it not a really good alternative considering there can be nay time food crises letting to increase the corn price which eventually increases the biofuel price also the efficiency of the cars achieved in not even matching the petrol/diesel based cars
Electricity based cars - hybrid cars are other alternative ways to drive already there are lots of hybrid card hitting the market there a issue still with them of efficiency and the time it takes to charge up a cars So lots of car manufactures are creating cars based on electricity + gas, you can use alternatively both the fuel on same cars
Water based cars- this is considered to become a the most prominent source of alternative fuel based cars why water is in abundant and still you don't have to pay for it, other advantages you don't need to buy a new car for it there are already many products appeared in the market which converts your old cars into water based cars and it really so simple, typically it considered the new fuel which is really cheap you will have better performance on it
How does it work - the organic composition of water is hydrogen and oxygen i.e. H2O , it means two parts of hydrogen and one part of oxygen which when utilized gives enough to drive a car with performance matching a gas based cars
So switching to any of the above alternative can save huge gas bills and also the above the ways are greener and does not contribute Carbon credits to nature.

- Great lens idea. I've been considering a natural gas vehicle for some time now because I don't travel far. You should consider adding an ebay module to this lens and try selling some cars. You never know. You might just sell one? I'm going to lens roll this to my Compressed Natural Gas Vehicles Lens. 5***** Have a great day!
