The 90's "Embellished" everything.
Now, we are full blown into "Altering" EVERYTHING!
A true altered art artist has few, if any, boundaries. But, you also have to be a Mixed Media artist. Using a single art medium would be too confining and we just won't stand for it! You also can't alter without using a Found Object at some point ....... which of course brings us full circle to being a Recycled Art Artist! Add to that collaging, assemblage, layering ..... and well, I'm afraid the diagnosis is clear: You are hopelessly ALtEReD!

Meet "Queen Alternique"!
A wonderful ATC gift given to me by a great friend and a favorite collage artist, Kris Hubick.
Alternique's mascot and "Queen" of my yard.
~ Busy every summer throwing walnuts onto my roof, instead of the ground, from the walnut tree in my back yard.
~ Sits in the Catalpa tree, chattering away and teasing my dogs relentlessly.
~ Keeps ALL the other squirrels, gray AND red, "in line".
~ Scarfs down a "royal" helping of any sunflower seeds I put out for all to share.
~ A "royal pain in the ---" at times; with the cutest, most innocent "who me?" look anytime caught in a mischievous act...

Please help these flying flower beauties. The forests on which these butterflies depend, where they migrate to overwinter, have been cleared at an alarming rate. This leaves the butterflies vulnerable and harms local communities by contributing to soil degradation and the drying up of natural springs, on which the Monarchs also depend.
