Aluminium Poisoning

Murderous Cooking Utensils
How many cooks give thought to the utensils they use in food preparation and whether or not they are dangerous to our health?
Many years ago I woke up to the danger of aluminium as a common metal used in saucepans. At that time there was limited knowledge about the effect of leeched metal particles in food. My grandmother had recently died of cancer and I wanted to know why? So I researched her eating habits as a priority and noticed that all her pots were aluminium. Further research pointed to the fact that this metal is relatively unstable and that it can leech into food.
In more recent findings it is now being linked to Altzheimers Disease and other things such as Parkinson's Disease. The amoung of this metal we take into our bodies is increased through all the products that now use it for the sake of modern convenience.
Kitchen Must be Clean and Functional

Not until one installs the latest equipment and refurbishes the cupboards with great utensils and other modern products do you get the gist of what a wonderful, clean and functional kitchen means to a cook. Out with all the old cooking pots that are possibly alumium or comprising other toxic materials and in with the best stainless steel, iron or ceramic pots and pans. Avoid tin and anything plastic that can leash out harmful pbc particles into your cooked food.
This is what I have recently done and everything including the microwave and dishwasher were replaced. The power bill shot down to half of its previous amount. It is amazing how well my new microwave is working compared to the old one and how it is a breeze to cook in. That allows me more time to do other things and also to avoid using the electric stove.
The dishwasher works far better and is such a breeze to operate I almost want to put it on everyday but I restrain myself as I live alone and that would be wasteful. Having new and wonderful dishes allows me to just rinse them under the tap and only put the diswasher on every third day unless there is more to do.
Is You Kitchen Pleasureable to Work In?
After the Refit
Once my kitchen was fiished the difference it made to me was incredible. First off it was so easy to clean and care for that instead of 2 hours of labour it was a few minutes of pleasure to get it spotless again.
The new cupboards and tiles seem to repel the mess and a quick wipe and they are done. Prior to this I used to bleach the tops to get them looking white again. If that is how your kitchen is then you definitely need an upgrade. Aside from the new cupboards, white goods and paint job other thiungs were then replaced as well to set it off and complete the job.
My new stainless steel cutlery makes me feel great and now some new chef knives are next on the list of things to acquire

Great Kitchen Stuff for the Kids
Encourage Little Ones to Cook
At what age should children start to cook. My little ones were encourage from the time they were in nappies. They were given their own bowls with flour and water and things and fun was had by all. You won't mind the mess they make if your kitchen is well managed, functional and easy to clean up.
That is the other thing that kids love to do believe it or not. They love to wash up and sweep the floor, pack the dish washer and generally act like an adult. Don't let this opportunity to have them explore the pleasures of a kitchen while they are young enough to want to do it and before the school work and peer pressure from their mates call them to other things.
