Alyson Michalka Stars In New Series Hellcats

Lovely Alyson Michalka is Marti Perkins in Hellcats, a law student who finds her scholarship has been cancelled but realizes that she needs to try out for a cheerleading scholarship to stay in school.

She recently told an MTV interviewer that "Marti is a really unique girl because she's really strong. She knows what she wants. She has an edge about her, but she's likable. It adds vulnerability when it comes to the people that she meets, and becoming this cheerleader on this squad of girls she would normally never relate to. I love the fact that 'Hellcats' follows her journey."

The series also stars Ashley Tisdale formerly of a number of Disney channel series and the High School Musical movies as Savannah Munroe who is the rival of Marti and the head cheerleader on the squad.

Michalka has a number of movies under her belt including Easy A which opens September 17th also starring Emma Stone, Penn Badgley and Amanda Bynes. In 2006 she and her sister Amanda Michalka starred in Cow Belles and Michalka was the lead singer in last year's Bandslam about a group of teens who start a band.
