    I love this song because God has beening truely amazing in my 53 years of living on this earth, God heal me from cancer, and heal my mind of physcial abuse, There were days i i would not have made it without his Grace, his Amazing Grace, Thank God for blessing you to write such a beatiful song , because of his grace we lives.     Hey Amazing Grace is one of my favoriate hymns along with Victory In Jesus, and In The Sweet By and By long with probably hundred others. Great lens. God bless! :)

    A wonderful song. Just wondering - where did the verse that we often sing as the last verse, "When we've been there 10000 years...", come from and when was it added?

    "The verse following was apparently added by an American, many years ago to the old original version written by John Newton. It is one of my favorites to end the wonderful old song, whatever number of verses you may sing!"

    When we've been there ten thousand years,
    Bright shining as the sun;
    We've no less days to sing God's praise
    Than when we first begun!

    I have read some more of the history, but most of it was speculation!
