Amazing Holiday Let in Wales

What a little gem! I recently stayed at this beautiful holiday cottage in Boncath, Pembrokeshire, Wales. An old Stable converted in to pure luxury by it's owners Anne and Tony Nelson. Tony is nothing but a genius when it comes to buildings and Anne is such a perfectionist and has thought of every fine detail to make this the best holiday let I have ever stayed in.

Easy to use website and secure booking system. Fantastic communication and information with everything you could possibly need. All of this before we have even set off on our journey to Wales.

Arrival - We had told Anne what time we expected to arrive but was not for one minute thinking we would be greeted with a lovely cream tea waiting for us on the table along with a welcome basket packed full of all the essentials you could need and to top it off a loaf of Anne's home made local cake called bara Brith. We visited in November 2010 which was a little chilly but this was not an issue at Wernddofn as Tony had already prepared the log burner, all we had to do was strike the match and relax and that is exactly what we did.

After awaking from what I can say was one of the best nights sleep of my life thanks to the most comfortable bed we sat at the dining table eating our breakfast (Anne's Home made bread I may add) gazing out of the window at the amazing views over the valley, it's the first morning and already I love it! As we had been blessed with lovely sunshine we decided we would pop along to the local beach to find it completely empty.... the most beautiful sands I have seen in the UK to date, lovely weather and just the sound of the waves, what a great first day in Wales.

On advice from Anne we had a trial climb before heading up to Snowdon and climbed Freni Fawr, the holiday let is located on the side of this mountain so it made sense. A nice and easy way to see what we had let ourself in for. We made it to the top and back down again in good time... again to our supprise Anne knowing how long it takes had prepared an afternoon tea for our return.... just what we needed.

While in Wales we visited so many beautiful places from historic sites to water falls all of which you must try and see if ever you find yourself in Wales. Anne has an information pack full of great ideas and places to visit all based on personal experiences so you know it will be worth it. just another great touch if you ask me, serious amount of time has gone into the finer details here.

Climbing - While we wanted a few days to relax we also wanted to do as much as possible so decided to take on a few mountains, we managed to climb Snowdon, Cadair Idris and Pen Y Fan which are the mountains used for the Welsh 3 peak challenge. We decided on these mountains as the views from all 3 are some of the best you will find in Wales, needless to say we were not disappointed at all.

There is still so much more to see and do in Wales and 1 week was just not enough so we plan to go back in 2011 and certainly will not stay anywhere but Wernddofn as I just can't see any other holiday cottage, hotel or B&B coming close to the standards set by Anne & Tony.
