I like the idea of the bigger screen, but guess the smaller ones are more portable for travel. Hmmm...

Kindle DX is my new baby. I find it very useful, as i am a bookworm. I love to read just about anywhere, anytime. And now, it's even better! I don't have to bring all my books if I'm going out on a trip! I got mine at http://thekindledevices.com :)
  • Sycro Nov 29, 2010 @ 12:43 pm | delete
    nice lense
  • jakealoo Mar 23, 2010 @ 12:58 pm | delete
This is truly a beautiful lens. A friend of mine has one of these and they are really great for traveling. I was suprised at how easy the display was on my eyes. If I was going to get one it would definitley be the DX.
  • Waldo May 15, 2009 @ 9:23 pm | delete
The problem I see with the Kindle line of ereaders is that the technology is changing to rapidly to command the price of the DX. The Kindle2 was only out 3 months when the DX was released, what is to say a color model won't be out in the next 3 months. Reduce the price of the DX and people will flock to it, especially if you offer a rebate for at least the Kindle 2 owners. I will definate buy one, but not until the price is reduced. I have been bitten too many times by early adoption of technology products.

    Its desirable....too expensive!
  • CoolFoto May 9, 2009 @ 6:00 pm | delete

waaaaaaaaaaaaayy out of my $$ range...for now
but nifty! I wish I COULD have one!
    thx for sharing the info
  • JaguarJulie May 6, 2009 @ 1:53 pm | delete
Ah Susan, you tempt me that you do however I am a thrifty old lady that is sticking with her original Amazon Kindle. Heck, I've only had it a year -- I like to keep my gadgets for about 7 years before upgrading. ;) It looks pretty cool though.
  • badmsm May 6, 2009 @ 1:02 pm | delete
Fantastic lens! Makes me want to get a Kindle. 5 Stars & a Squid Angel Blessing for you!
  • Sarah May 6, 2009 @ 10:13 am | delete
I have yet actually to hold a Kindle 2 in my hand, though I've been trying to see one for a couple of months. The real issue will be the screen and book design, as well as the interactive features. Is it really significantly easier to read on an eInk or Plastic Logic screen? Is that ease of use worth giving up the advantages of, say, a NetBook or Mac Air, which is also a computer and Real Soon Now probably a phone? I'm curious but not convinced.
  • rms May 5, 2009 @ 12:01 pm | delete
Oh boy, now I want one of these!
  • tandemonimom May 5, 2009 @ 11:56 am | delete
The Kindle seems awfully cool! But I admit I don't have one yet. Maybe someday soon ...
  • Trekkiemelissa May 5, 2009 @ 11:32 am | delete
I so much love my kindle 2. I can understand the bigger size, but if they make it bigger, then its going to get harder to carry. I carry mine in my purse when I go out. I honestly wish that they did have these a few years back when I was taking 4 english classes back to back. From what I can tell from the picture it looks like a kindle 2, just bigger with some improvements.
  • stargazer00 May 5, 2009 @ 11:21 am | delete
What a great invention! These have so many uses such as classrooms as you mentioned. I think they would be great for sailors on deployment as they take up so little room and you can load so much reading material onto them.
