This is a great device. Revolutionary. I've been using it several hours a day for the last couple of weeks. Getting newspapers, books, magazines, browsing web sites and playing music. Lengthy free samples of books, free trials to newspapers, magazines, free internet access, plays music. Virtual bookstore. Also book prices are much lower on the Kindle -- only $9.99 for books that are currently in hardcover.

The literate ipod, :-). Green device (saves paper, distribution -- i.e. cuts pollution, saves trees).

Get one, even if you just buy a few books a year, a newspaper and a magazine, you'll save enough to justify the price (a greater amount of savings on the books and subscriptions than the interest you'd get if you put that money into the bank). Plus you get free web access just about anywhere (cell network connection, no fee), and it plays mp3s! If you read much at all you will love this.
