TO IGNORE, OR NOT TO IGNORE...
...That is the question! Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune. Or to take arms against a sea of troubles, and by opposing end them?
As an Amazon marketplace seller with a couple of years experience of selling on Amazon full time I often get frustrated and annoyed by the seemingly constant price slide caused by senseless underpricing (slings) and pricing software (arrows). I am not alone in suffering the frustration caused by these slings and arrows as is witnessed by the constant discussion of the subject in various amazon seller discussions. Rather than perpetuate the argument about the morals of various pricing strategies and the use of software for automatic re-pricing, I have decided to create this page to allow amazon sellers to publish and refer to a list of those who appear to use software to either undercut or match the prices of the lowest item.
Feel free to use this list for whatever reason you prefer. Personally I see this becoming a valuable resource for amazon sellers, whether they are the small hobby seller, or the full time seller. It is not to name and shame, it is purely to give you an idea of which sellers will match your price, and which will uundercut. Though I will also include a vote list for the undercutting section so that users may vote for their least popular competitor!
I do also intend to provide this facility for american users but as I have no knowledge of that market I will not be able to verify information posted.
If a seller feels they have been, either, wrongly entered onto this list, or in the wrong category, or has actually stopped using pricing software feel free to use the coments section to enter details and amendments will be made.

How to use this info
If you price manually you may want to decide not to undercut these sellers as undercutting them will be a fairly pointless exercise and only give you an advantage for a few hours.
Remember sellers do change their seller names, and new sellers are constantly appearing so do keep checking back here, or subscribe to the RSS feed by clicking on "Grab this list"!
This information cannot be guaranteed to be accurate, but where there are inaccuracies please do inform me so I may correct them.
How to submit!
The easiest does not require you to register, just use the guest book to submit the seller id, with URL to their seller page, your entry will then be checked and added to the list. Please include details such as feedback in star & percentage. Your post to the guestbook will not be published, but your info will be, allowing you to remain anonymous.
The other is to register with squidoo, then you can submit links directly, though they will be checked before being published. Being a squidoo member will also allow you to vote published links up and down, as well as lot of cool other things such as make money making pages or pages to promotoe your own website! Leave comments of support or critiscm, names of sellers you're not sure if they are using pricing software but suspect they are. Been wrongly submitted or placed in the wrong category? This is where to request changes!
Or even have a moan about why you think undercutting prices is a valid business strategy!

Thanks for this initiative. I list relatively few books and have tended to undercut, driven by fear of being subsumed by the mega-listers. The rational comments here (the intelligent ones I might provocatively suggest) have given me the courage to list at the price I feel my books are worth.

Why on earth would anyone waste their time with this silliness? Why not get out and buy some interesting books instead? Some of us need to feed our families, pay the rent etc. We can't all be "gentlemen" booksellers, living off our retirement (teachers?) pensions. Stop this bleating please.

Thanks for the support swift books. The idea of this list isn't for buyers, so far looking at the traffic all the visitors are from book selling forums. It's purpose is mainly for those who would like to know which sellers are likel to undercut them when pricing on amazon so they can be ignored.

Hi anon, thanks for your honesty, and also understanding the purpose of this list. Though am sure many other sellers would disagree that they win by ignoring you, more that they aren't prepared to compete. For all to win price cutting would have to be consigned to history.

Hi, this looks really good. I would also be interested to see on here a list of sellers whose prices can be relied upon as being good fair market value, so that when presented with a list of prices varing greating, the less experienced bookseller can decide where to price.
