Publishers! Earn extra cash by giving your authors free Amazon sales rank tracking, plus PROMOTE YOUR PRODUCTS

This article highlights how publishers and producers can earn both cash and kudos by providing their authors/artists with a free subscription to track the Amazon sales rank of their titles.

Utilizing Ranktracer helps promote books and products sold on Amazon by providing a much larger online presence (through RSS feeds, blogs, guides, lilsts, ads and much, much more) completely free.

Do your authors want instant access to their new book's sales performance?

BookScan proving to be a bit on the expensive side?

What is the one thing that consumes authors from the time their book hits the market? For me, it was the Amazon sales rank - and I know that it's the same thing with authors time and time again all over the world. There's something about it that keeps us coming back time and time again to check if we have sold another 100 copies or none at all.

If my publisher offered me the ability to track my new book's Amazon sales rank on an hourly basis, with powerful graphing, reports, sales estimates, alerts and much more all absolutely free I would be ecstatic. It would save me from having to visit Amazon each day to only get a glimpse of what the sales rank is doing - instead I could visit my online account any time and see the book's overall performance. If I'm really lazy I could just wait for a weekly or monthly report giving me everything I need... Great!

But how can you, as a publisher, offer a service like this to authors for free? Here's the rub...

1) RankTracer.com has a trace credit system that allows anyone to buy credit that can be emailed off in bits to anyone else.
2) A publisher, or anyone else, can buy trace credit in bulk (thereby qualifying for reseller bonus credit of 10%) and email say $6 of it to any authors who have new books coming out - $6 provides 3 full months worth of tracking on RankTracer.com.
3) The authors can then utilize this credit to track their books for free.

Ok, but the publisher still has to buy the credit in the first place, right? Right, but what the publisher can do is add the $6 to the price of making the book, so that it becomes part of the production expenses (however negligible) that must be recouped before royalties are paid out.

In this way, a publisher can purchase $1000 of trace credit and earn $1100 (recall the additional 10% reseller bonus) by doing it. So the publisher actually earns a bit of cash by providing the service to authors who get to track their book(s) for free.

Plus you directly benefit from all the additional online promotion work that RankTracer undertakes. Any products that are tracked are automatically added to lists, feeds, guides, blogs and plenty other media all over the Web.

Here's an example of a standard feed produced by RankTracer. Wouldn't you like to benefit from this additional marketing?
